teemu has to come back to winnipeg..............full circle, then can he call it a career, not to many players can say that, if he comes to wpg, WOW, that would be the most incredible career ever.
even if you hate the ducks, selanne is one of the greatest players in nhl history and a class act. amazing career. glad to watch him day by day in anaheim for the past 12 years.
Some people are just destined to win it... Even after many years, they can't retire without it. Ray Borque, Teemu Selänne, or most recently Tim Thomas. All of them won the Stanley cup being older than 35.
Teemu is the definitiion of class and a franchise player. He's everything you want in someone representing your team. We're so lucky to have had him back while winning the stanley cup, it made it mean so much more to Ducks fans. Really a shame Kariya couldn't be there for it too, although he came pretty damn close in '03.
Stuff like this makes me want to cry. Seeing guy's as tough, as ruthless as some of these hockey players to see them break down after such a long season's grind really shows you the beauty in life.
without injuries...by far couldve been up there with lemieux and gretzky, still amazing. Fuckin finnish flash. Anyone smell a return to the Jets as a final sendoff? hahaha
As a Sharks fan, I hate the Ducks. Cant stand 'em. But I have to admit I love watching Teemu play and I can't help but love that the guy won a championship. Have nothing but respect for him as a player and how emotional he is over losses and victories.
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. An old rugged hockey player, whose been through it all. Wins the cup, and is so happy that he can't help but cry. I want to be that happy someday.
teemu has always been very emotional when it comes to winning or losing. my biggest memory from 2006 olympics was when old guys like teemu and teppo numminen cried in the interviews after finland lost to sweden in finals.
@greasykanadian Hahahaha! I don't think these old players can't help it. It always happens like that. I'm sure their excuse is that they're wearing it for the occasion. Uh huh.
Man this video kills me, fuck the douchebags who rant about how Europeans don't give a shit about winning in the NHL, you just have to see this video to see the man's passion for the sport and the Cup and what it represents.
@Rowain I don't know where have you heard this, but every, I mean EVERY hockey player canadien/european dreams about winning the cup. It's the biggest thing anyone can win and there is nothing you can compare it to.
@kanervatie It's mostly Canadian pundits like Don Cherry who make snide comments like this. I'm Canadian myself and it annoys me that *some* of our broadcasters and commentators have this pervasive opinion that only Canadians TRULY understand and love hockey. It's an opinion that only hurts the sport
I'm glad Selänne has won the cup. Good for him, great player, great person. He deserves it, and that is coming from a swede. I'm sad Sundin never got it.
even tho sports are just a way of pushing others out of the way to put yourself over others, its still nice to see the beautiful moments come together for an individual , a team, a family. this is a great hockey moment and it warms my heart
Sounds like your mind isn't quite intelligent enough to comprehend what sports are.... Sports are another form of competitive experience, which is what life as a whole is about. Look at how animals eat each other, or fight. How humans fight wars, debate, compete in sports, compete in politics, compete in economics... Much of life in this universe is competition, and sports are pure 'clean' competition. Truly something we should be very happy to get to experience.
im so glad that selänne got the stanley cup because this kind of hockey player stanley is only big thing he ever won he wast there when our little finland won world championchip and finland newer won olympics.
great that he got even 1 big gold. nhl:s best player of all time number 17:)
teemu was always my favorite nhl players since i was a kid....its really too bad he suffered so many injuries, he could have been the best goal scorer ever....76 goals and 132 points his rookie year? incredible....YOUR THE MAN TEEMU! we love u in new york....

Yes, the majority of people here in Northern Europe are Christians. However, using the expression "thank God" doesn't reveal anything about religious belief. I'm an atheist and I still use the words "God" and "Jesus" in figurative speech every now and then.

No it isn't, although even us Finns sometimes use the term incorrectly. If you for some reason want to categorize Finland with the Scandinavian nations, use the term "Nordic countries".
