I like this movie. My favourite scene is when Anthony Edwards is being fucked by Darlanne Flugel on the bed. Darlanne Flugel has the most gorgeous tatas i ever seen.
bad-ass sequel to the ho-hum original. can stand on it's own as a horror powerhouse. one of the horror greats from the early nineties. really twisted, mean-spirited, great gory visuals, cool music and style, had with great selection of actors and amazing atmosphere. and it was directed by a lady which was really surprising!! maybe people disliking it so much was because it had some drama and sentiment, but i felt that added so much more to it!
oldschool movies are better because they're simpler they make the story more posible and believable, the proof that good gorror movies can be done today is paranormal activity simple scary interesting do simple horror movies and the success of a good horror movie is practically guranteed
older horror movies are way better...they seem more realistic...cgi is too polished and makes it less realistic and less scary to me plus the grainy video makes older ones better and more real also....animatronics and make-up fx ftw...

@Foxbat54 actually because of copyright laws, the people making the movies have to get stephen king's approval before they could use his story. also he always has some part in the writing of the movies. he also makes small cameos in all of the movies. in pet cemetary he was the priest with the glasses, the bartender in it, the pizza man in rose red, a pharmacist in thinner, and the list goes on.

The original was a real classic, and was an honest effort at a decent film, this is popcorn trash horror so typical of horror sequels with bigger budgets!!!

I enjoy this film, although it is not as great as the original. It's more like 90's MTV mixed with Pet Sematary. Edward Furlong's career was booming at this point following his role in T2, which sparked his starring role in this and Brainscan.

It's funny that it's the same director (Mary Lambert) as "Pet Sematary" yet the tone is much different. I like this sequel, almost as much as the first. It's a decent sequel to Stephen King's novel. The main difference is that this was taken more as a dark comedy in ways that the original was full blown horror. I like both for different reasons.

This part II.was trash, I agree. As far as I remember, the kids in the cemetery talked about Ellie, saying she ended up in a psychiatric institution. they did mention the daughter going crazy i do remember that, but they could have based the sequel around her. I guess edward was in T2 at the time and was a BIG star. Im pretty sure that stephen king had demons in mind when he had bodies rising from the indian burial ground. However, he did mention the Wendigo, which isn't exactly something judeo christian. Since they took the time to make a sequel they probably could have made a movie based all around the daughter and the Wendigo legend.

And when they come back, the experience scarred them. They didn't all comeback as slashers, only a couple. Most of them were just different (like church)

The cemetery up there had a magical power, some kind of attraction and urge to bury someone up there.Already if you entered the pet cemetery area, your soul started to go wrong and attracted by the evil. Part 1 was better unfortunately although the second film has it's moments. Interesting that Ed Furlong went from T2 to this.

It's funny that it's the same director (Mary Lambert) as "Pet Sematary" yet the tone is much different. I like this sequel, almost as much as the first. It's a decent sequel to Stephen King's novel. The main difference is that this was taken more as a dark comedy in ways that the original was full blown horror. I like both for different reasons.

i actually like this movie.
its not great compared to the orginal, but it's more of a stand-alone anyway.
they said that the parents died, which was kinda what i figured happened anyway.
thats how the book ended and is how the movie ends 2,leaving you on the edge of your seat,when racheal is just about to stab lious in the back and then the screen goes black, u hear him scream and thats the end, the book ends just about the same way.

@neard2000 well yes, in fact this part was more diverting, nobody denies it in that sense as a simple teen-popcorn-movie, but the point is the first had an intelligence with detailed psychic dramas on the characters proper of a novel masterpiece or best-seller in which it was based the film, element lacking in this commercial sequel which was a failure in repercussion for obvious reasons

there was really no need to make a sequel, but they could have used stuff from the first book that they didn't even touch in part II. like they could have talked about what happened to the daughter of the Creed Family?! They could have talked about why the "things" that came back from the dead knew things...where had they been and who were they coming back as? pet sem II just blew huge ass chunks all over the wall!

Well, if you have a little religious education, you know that Devil knows everything-except for the future.The zombies were "possessed"by demons.They all came back as themselves in body; only the demons were taking from their inside because their soul was gone...

they did mention the daughter going crazy i do remember that, but they could have based the sequel around her. I guess edward was in T2 at the time and was a BIG star. Im pretty sure that stephen king had demons in mind when he had bodies rising from the indian burial ground. However, he did mention the Wendigo, which isn't exactly something judeo christian. Since they took the time to make a sequel they probably could have made a movie based all around the daughter and the Wendigo legend.

If it is a sequel, why does it necessarily have to be connected to the same people?If the story was based around Ellie,that would have been just ever so cheesy?And what story excatly they could have made up?The Wendigo was an old legend of the Indians, they made it up to scare people from going there, saying the ground became sour /acidy;because of the dead they buried there/& cursed.They didnt want people see the zombies and cannibals.I am a christian too, but dont watch it if U cant handle it

@kathykisslight I haven't seen the movie, but in the book they came back different, because they experienced something, some level of hell, but they didn't go all the way. And when they come back, the experience scarred them. They didn't all comeback as slashers, only a couple. Most of them were just different (like church)

On the other hand, they didn`t want to include Ellie because Stephen King didn`t want to get involved with a second part at all: he didn`t write a book.He didn`t give his consent..Ellie was HIS character; they didn`t have the right to use her in part II. He probably got a laughing fit when he heard of the idea of a second part....

Someone seriously&urgently has to buy the original S. King book for a read!I guess, U can buy it for £2 now on Amazon. The cemetery up there had a magical power, some kind of attraction and urge to bury someone up there.Already if you entered the pet cemetery area, your soul started to go wrong and attracted by the evil. The kids obviously got scared that the stepdad died,what would they tell mum?If it turned out that the dog did it, they would put him to sleep. etc. Plus the power effected.

Yeah.... And when science said the sun was the center of our solar system and the Earth was round, the Christians freaked out, too.
