the lightning came from the atmosphere. I've seen enough rainstorms to know its just lightning. there is nothing special about this photo. People WANT to see a UFO so that's what they see.

If you know what you're looking for, it makes alot of sense. To back up my theory further, if you look, you will see that the clouds underneath the ship are actually making the lightning bolts, but instead of creating the normal path to the ground, the ship is sucking the energy upwards with conductors.
This isn't lightning being emitted from the UFO, this is the UFO conducting the electricity. That's why UFO's go into lightning storms, its how they power the ships. Let me know what you think of this theory.
I personally had a close encounter of the 3rd kind w a saucer on land western Canada on Hannakua that year was a sabbath (friday-night) late in november, a moonless night, strange purple light emitted upon me and one other.
