I own an omega masticating juicer and it is awesome. Does not clog or leak. I also own a Breville die cast but I use it for larger volumes and it is also faster. All in all keep what you are doing. I agree with you just get the hang of it and mixing vegies is easy.
That screen isn't the heavy duty one. The one with the smaller holes is the one that's heavy duty. The one with the bigger holes is CRAP. They stopped shipping that screen with the 330 and the 350. Stick with the HD screen with the smaller holes it has less pulp unless you just like pulp.
That is not the GE Ultem Screen. That was the coarse screen made from a more fragile plastic for just fruits with no seeds. The "thinner" screen you ended up using is the Ultem screen. Good luck breaking it. You can juice unpitted cherries with that beast.
Bill, contact the company, you've done so much "free advertising" for them they ought to give you a new model. I got the Vert 350 model which has some updated features like a heavier plastic around the screen (that hasn't broken on me yet) and a rubbery plus on the base to prevent leaks in the extruded pulp.
I like the videos that show juicing recipes. We only have two recipes we like so far. Think we'll need some more in the future. Thanks for doing the juicing demos.
Hey Bill, we have a Breville and a champion. I am not a fan of either and was wanting to buy an Omega Vert 350HD. Now I have reservations. Supposedly the HD version is the upgrade and has a much sturdier screen. That is suppose to be the difference between the HD and the regular vert. Is yours an HD? If not, then their upgrade makes perfect sense. I'd like to know if yours is an HD before I buy. Thanks. BTW, did the watermelon and red swiss chard taste good?
I got a GE juice extractor... I saw the documentary and wanted to get a juicer right away... but didn't expect how expensive juicers are and the one used in the documentary... so I went to a big box store and got 800watt for $50! Im on my 4th day on the juice... good luck and keep juicing
Also, many Omega Vert users say to chop up the fibrous parts of the greens into pieces no larger than 1 inch in length. I will give that a try. It would be nice to make this work. I otherwise love the machine.
One day at a time. You're doing great. I'm finally starting to receive compliments on my changes. When people notice it gives me a little more energy that I need to keep pushing forward.
I share your frustrations with the Omega. I have a 350 model. I have not broken a screen, but have had a lot of problems with the machine clogging juicing greens. I have come to the point that when I make my green juice I process it in the Vitamix and then strain it through a paint strainer bag and add that to what I have processed in the Omega. A hassle, but less hassle than unclogging the Omega constantly. My Breville just does not do the job on greens. Best wishes for continued success!
Hello, I was watching a juicing vid and this one person said the rind from the watermelon has high amounts of chlorophyll and is great to drink.

Hope you can get a new screen, that is frustrating. You give me great ideas for juice mixes.
