I have never had any problems with any Canon Camcorders that I've owned. Since my last XH A1s was stolen I switched over to Sony ZX5U and a NX5U and it''s far better than the Canona pictures in low light and in my wedding world that's what counts. If you want to improve the Canons performance then visit my page for the settings.
If you buy a Canon, you will eventually have to face the factory service center and they will NOT honor their warranty. My HD Professional Camera has been in the shop THREE times in its short 1st 6 month life. They tried to charge me $1,000 because of a defective firewire port. Complete idiots. Defective equipment and a 4 year warranty. I will NEVER buy any Canon product again. Period. Considering it, are you? Save your money ... don't do it. Canon sucks.
@wdhughes52 I owned my canon XH A1sProfessional Camcorder since July 2009, I have not had any problems yet. Sorry you had bad luck with your canon product.

gotta watch that monitor and stay in focus. I seen too many out of focus shots that would have been great if you would have just kept focus. i dont have the camera so i cant comment on how hard it is, but i would def watch out for it in the future.
yes it is quiet dark but hey am noticing that there is no noise. u know like a lot of pixels moving around. i dont know how to get rid of the noise u think u can give me an advice of how to get rid of it or at least try to reduce it i would appreciate it i usually shoot in TV mode so i dont know if that is the problem. get back to me pls
I recorded this video in manual mode. I never set my gain higher than 12 db. In the above recording the gain was set at 3db, the shutter speed was 1/60 and the aperture value was F1.6.
Google Canon XH A1 presets You will find customs preset that you will be able to down load on your SD card. These presets will improve the quality of your video
@Skybluedragon1 noise is usually caused by you increasing the ISO (light sensetivity). dont increase the ISO, but change the iris/diafragma and shutterspeed.
u can get better video with less $1,000 camera
