Actually firefighters don't get in trouble for helping officers. It has happened alot in our department, If the cops are struggling with a subject, a fireman can step in and help.

What about all the times when we need to lay lines and you have 5 cops you cant block off one street and people run over our house. Well it looks like the son was just found guilty for resisting arrest and assault on an officer. The father was scorned by the judge but acquitted of his actions. Both were drunk at the scene, from their own admittance. I think the judge was acting out of respect of the fire department and wanted to quell the cop vs firefighter sentiment.

Ok I read an article regarding this incident. The Police Chief (Or Constable) or whatever they call him, was very upset the firefighters didn't help out and stated that no where in their policy does it say that they can't help the police officers. I have many friends who are firefighters and they have all told me that they are not told to ignore the situation, but act accordingly and assist the police in any way that they can.

The cops were not arresting them, they were discussing with both the father and son.
They were both drunk and the son pushed the cop twice before this video started.
The cops tried to cuff the son and thats when the dad went crazy and started fighting with the cop he was with.
They both admitted in a court of law that they were intoxicated.
I believe they both should have been given felony jail time.

Damm i cant believe that my vid is still getting comments. The vancouver police have not contacted me since the incident. Im guessing that the firefighter father and son did not press charges like they said they were going to. Guess my video quieted them down. I dont know how hard they were punished for their actions, the father and son. Hopefully they received their due justice. :)

Lets clear up the rumor...firefighters very very rarely put out fires. Of the fires they do put out most are trash can or ashtray fires.
What firemen spend most their time doing is racing ambulances to passed out drunks, car crashes, or other medical emergencies they have no business attending to.
Most of a firemans time is spent justifying his existance and coming up with neat little tricks to pad their stats.

It's true. There's a reason they're usually first on the scene of car accidents and ambulance emergency calls - they have nothing else to do! That's why every few years they have to renew their first aid tickets, because they're first responder paramedics haha.

firefighters are pussies??? Well seeing how i am a firefighter ill give you an insight. I guess pussies run into burning buildings while other people are running out. They get to deal with the loss of life evry day, they get less than an hour sleep sometimes within 36 hours. They stood around because we are not aloud to get involved in police activity. If a firefighter jumps in he gets suspended without pay because insurance will not cover any injuries that occur during that brawl.
