  • History revision! :) Thanks

  • The first violent Episode of the Cold War was actually in Colombia where a Presidential Candidate was assassinated by a debated organisation during the founding of the Organisation of American States.

287 conflicts were fought involving 136 country's and resulting in the deaths of 57 million people over the course of 46 years (1945-1991)

Major Proxy Wars include the Chinese Civil War, The Vietnam War, The Korean War, Years of lead (Italy), Decolonization in General, Soviet-Afghan War

  • hooray for IB kids :D

  • your voice is so sexy ;)

  • Great Work!

  • quick ? was The Cold War a verbal conflict or did soliders actually fight against each other?

  • @SkrappyX3 no fighting happend

  • thanks!

  • @SkrappyX3

Millions died around the world fighting the Cold War.

Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Congo, Cuba, Phillippines, Chile, East Germany, Hungary,

  • wait im confused now. wasn't this a war between USA and USSR?

  • @SkrappyX3

It goes like this Timmy. A direct war between the USSR and the USA would involve nuclear weapons and last 30 minutes. The planet would be destroyed.

So..the Soviets decided to fight proxy wars. They took third world countries..like Cuba, put puppet Govts in place..and used them to attack the USA. The whole scheme depended on lots of idealistic gullible useful idiots to make work. You arent a useful idiot are you?

  • Oh and bye the way Stalin new more about the Manhaten project that Roosevelt did when Roosevelt informed him about it at the Yalta before the end of the war. This video is not accurate to history.

  • Roosevelt never told Stalin about the bomb.

It was Trumen that told Stalin. And yes, Trumen was surprised by Stalin's "lack of response".

Roosevelt always knew about the bomb.

Trumen was virtually kept in the dark concerning all decisions in WWII.

  • @ctcole77 Soviet spies did know about the bomb however. im glad to see some people actually know what the hell they are talking about. Cole and IBhistoryatofs: you guys made my day.

  • @IBslayed

Actually the ones who actually stole the secrets were Americans and Brits.

  • @JANEZ45 as an ib student i feel appalled by your spelling. (:

  • Yugoslavia was NEVER in Soviet union, it was communist but Tito never let Stalin to take it over. And if there was a war Britan would help to defend Yugoslavia

  • Yugoslavia was however part of COMECON

  • im guessing ur doing IB.. im just doing my history essay now..

"asses the part played by different ideologies in the origin of the cold war"..

    this was good. thanks x

  • Oh no!
