I bought the mic and it wasn't what I expected if you want your recording to sound professional this mic is not gonna do the job. unless u got a low budget n wanna drop a mixtape or a demo or sumtin I don't think this mic is worth it
@hoodwun you need to edit your vocals once you lay them down my dude in cool edit their is alot of settings their to tweak em alot of up and comming artist such as d-pryde if you check out his stuff you'd hear how pro soundin that is
plug your mic into your pc and go to start>controlpanel>hardware & sounds>manage audio devices then click the recording tab u should see your mic listed if not the probelm is your usb cable and you need to replace it assuming your mic is listed double click it then click the levels tab to raise your mic's volume this mic default volume is normally on zero or close 2 it
And ??? what about of the sound card. No need one ? Can I record my audio directly to my software sequence ? My software detect audio IN to record the sound ?
I got a problem i never used to have with my Samson CO1U, when i record now i sort of get a scruffy disgusting vocal quality like if i had a dirty sock over the microphone and i never used to get this. Why would this be? please help, thanks!
He means that the audio drivers are already in the mic. It's basically a Studio condenser with a read-only flash drive. So it autoruns and autoinstlls into your computer.
for music (maily vocals), does it matter that this mic records in MONO, instead of STEREO?? please reply. I'm saving money to buy this mic or some other one in the price range. This mic (Samson CO1U w/ quality pop filter, desk stand, and shock mount $112.95 on eBay) or the Marshall MXL USB .007 Stereo Condenser Microphone w/ desktop mic stand, mic stand adapter, a 10-foot USB cable, and wind screen ($189.95 on eBay).
You can get an 89 dollar samson c01u mic from unique squared. it includes all that you mentioned. the only thing that is not with the 89 dollar package is that there is no shock mount or pop filter. You can make it stereo if you go into your audio settings of your os and set it at 2channel,DVD Quality
with FL Studio you have to have to use the ASIO4ALL drivers for recording vocals, and you have to select this mic as your input device as well as having ASIO4ALL set in your Audio Settings.
For best Quality you need an Audio Interface I believe that's what I heard anyway I am going too be getting one soon I had heard something about an "Interface" so if you want good Quality you will need that and it's important too not be in a room with alot of air if you need too put a matress and boxspring up around you it wont hurt.
Would This Mic be good for recording Hiphop vocals? And what program should i use to record my Music cuz With FL Studio you have to Record your whole song in one try! and it makes the chorus's sound TOTALLY Diffferent than your first (its impossible to do it perfectly)
av got thiis mic andtw, its AMAZIG iv had noprobms wth it, it fts my standards and its amazing sound recording and yes its goood fr r & b aswll, hnetsly i couldnt gewt a better ic, i would highly reccomend it x
Hey, I have a problem! *sigh* Up until now I've been able to record in stereo with no problems. However now when I try to record, the right-hand channel has a much lower volume than the left - so the sound I get after recording is really unbalanced. I recently installed (and subsequently uninstalled) Cubase, is it possible that the installation changed some settings somewhere? I'd really like to know how to get things back to normal because it's doing my head in and Im desperate to record!
It's a mono microphone (most microphones are mono), so it isn't supposed to record in stereo. You should only select the left channel as the input for the recording software and the recorded sound should come out from both left and right speakers perfectly balanced in volume. Help that helps.
Is this mic any good for recording a grand piano in a home studio?

you need a soundcard
itzyoboiteddy 2 years ago
no, the C01U has its own soundcard built in unlike the original C01in which it needs its own soundboard.

Does this mic run off soundcard? Becuase other USB mics dont run off soundcard! Reply ASAP
BrextaFilms1 3 years ago 3
i'm pretty sure this does, i've done a little research on this mic and there's some latency issues.
jasonfinley1986 3 years ago
that is because it takes time to convert to a usb signal

If you are running XP, you will need to install the Samson SoftPre software. I believe it does have a built in soundcard
