i don't believe in ares being a coward. i see him more as an oppurtunist who loves to play games. instead of being the god of war he shud be more appropriately called god of bloodlust which explains why he goes to battle without any tactical plans, why he switches to whoever's side is winning and why he loves to start unnessary fights. and unlike the other olympian gods he's never involved in nonconsensual sex. he doesn't go around rapin women. he cares deeply for his children immortal or not

Ares isn't really a coward. If you read the myths, he never refuses to fight because he is afraid of getting hurt. If he gets wounded in battle, he goes and heals his injury and comes right back to the battle. Ares is the god of survival at all costs type war, and if that means retreating from the battle, then so be it.

Don't you think it is comic that the God of War is a coward? I do not think that Ares was coward- otherwise he would not join warriors in the battlefield. Besides, as a god, no mortal weapon could harm him lethally.
