Listen to the piano accompaniment, Mr. Dorsey timing for excellent, he gives the solist q's so that she will follow his playing. He'll add notes....beautiful
Wonderful...I wish i could play like Dr.Dorsey I've tried hard over the years to match my playing style to the ole' fashion way. Some say i've been moderfied and it's impossible to play like the great pioneers of Gospel music stlye. In yet later days I encourage my younger generation to thank the older pioneers for all they've done to bring us thus far in Gospel music. I love that Sallie Martin yet I've searched the web and still can't find anymore of her and mr dorsey together singing! :) TKS
This was a highly requested song for The Father & 3 Sons. This is a great song. Thanks for sharing this wonderful song.

@markofNBC There was no Gaither Vocal Band when this song was written & sung originally. This was way ahead of Gaither's time :-)

Rev. Sallie Martin! I met her a few years before she passed and she was a hot good mess!
She got Mother Willie Mae Ford Smith though. They loved each other too!

Great post. I wish someone had Sallie Martin singing "God Put in a Rainbow in the Sky" with the GMWA Mass Choir. It was their theme song!

I just love MR. Dorsey's ragtime playing style on this song. I see he still has the jazz blues in them fingers. lol.
