I cant believe they even have awards for what is passing as "breakthrough" videos and music. The 90's will definitely rule when it came to music videos of all genres.

LiVE didn't go away, they just lost their edge a little, didn't really fit in with mainstream western music marketing models, and ultimately didn't make the breadth of good music they did in the 90s. But if you liked them in Throwing Copper because of that rawness, that edge, and you like your rock with big riffs and licks and you still long to see the Chad Taylor Stomp, but you don't want to see the Eddie Gay-Pop K (no offence to gay people intended by that) check out The fucking Gracious Few!

It's not that great bands like this "go away". it's record companies, radio & tv stations that suddenly decide the band isn't "trendy" and either drop or ignore them for something new -and often crappier. Live came out with more stuff after this, but radio and tv didn't support it and where was the promotion from the label? Dolphin's Cry in 1999 was a pleasant surprise airplay wise, but that was it. This was the era of Britney, Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys... Mainstream has sucked ever since
