hi after reading (discodreama) and everyones coments i am a bit more conferdent in getting my first range rover i want a diesel 2.5 on about a t reg from a dealer as i know it will be nice + i ant got the money in me pocket anyway but wots the relibility on them and some people are telling me to get it chipped is it worth it thanx
@teddy2k5 Ihave ap38 dse on a t plate had it for a year now done 143k and never spent apenny on it its also been 100 percent reliable and is apleasure to drive
Ive had a p38 straight 6 diesel and a 2.5 disco 300tdi, i have sold both but i want another p38 diesel because they have a lot more mid-top end power than the 300tdi and can be tuned a lot more. The straight 6 bmw diesel turbo engine is a fucking powerhouse, mine had 270k on the original engine and went like stink.
Well i have since bought another p38 diesel and i have given it some stick and for the road tyres it has on it it has done well in the mud, I am after some bfg m/t's for my p38, If you want fast buy a superchgarged brand new rangey, If you want pure diesel torque and reliability buy a p38 diesel. Still tops 100mph no problem and has the low power (over 1000rpm) under 1000rpm it is gutless, Power starts coming at 1500rpm turbo starts to boost upto 3500rpm, I do hammer my p38.
Im always keeping my foot planted taking that straight six right upto maximum revs and it does sound a beast, Piss over any 200 or 300tdi tractor noise... Gotta keep the blowers hot though when off roading as they like to get hot when in the mud, But they are very capable, Its down to driving skill really and good tyres!!
Its never conquer extreme terrain the likes a defender can achieve but it is a good balance between off road and comfortable road use, IE. try doing 80mph in an old land rover 90 with mud tyres on................ But they are very capable off road and a good choice of vehicle.

Totally legit, that thing gits-r-done! Now, lift it on some 33" tires and it'll kick ass.

Hi mate, what do you think of the 2.5 Diesel versions to these? Any good for offroading? Or "sticky" situations?
My mates going to sell me the 2.5 Diesel version to it and was wondering what its performance would truly be.
Regards.
