I saw this when I was 8 and am still think it is fantastic 41 years later.I have seen the modern remake and all I can say is that even International Rescue couldn't save that movie.
@Spagettieater9000 Well men, if this movie did that to you, dont watch the 2003 movie because its gonna be like eating diohrea that came out of your own dick !!!
@Standardfrank That movie was ruined because of a poor concept. I think the only way it could have would have been to appeal to past fans while being clever enough that contempory audiences could appreciate it. My idea would have been to have the original machines (as per the 1960 idealised view of the future) appear in the 21st century to rescue a world that has become over reliant on computers and can't cope with a real emergency. And yes they would be fined for noise and pollution.
@ewaf88 : Thanks. Eye Agree. The Movie Was RUINED Deliberately Into A POOR CONCEPT! WHore-Lie-Wood Did This Purposely For The Dumbing Down Of Kids! Eye Bought The Movie On DVD To Figure How They Botched-IT...If You Have Ever Listened To The Director's Commentary Of J-Frakes...He Made You Aware By His Statements Of His Contempt He Had For Thunderbirds And Applied No Real Thinking For The Movie From Its Root! They Got Rid Of J.Anderson And Spent $70 million Shooting A Noisy Whim...PURPOSELY!
@Standardfrank I'm sure a talented director and screenwriter could have made a good movie. I watched the film in complete horror - but had to give a little credit to the actors who played Lady Penelope and Parker. At least they tried. I'll have to have a think about a Director.....
i loved this film! however it wasnt the thunderbirds who tried to fight for survival on mars, it was the zero-x crew. wonder if anderson noticed the error?
Penelope's car flying in space was a dream sequence. One of the boys was dreaming he was on a date with her (I think it was Virgil, the boy who always got stuck up in space). They flew to a nightclub in space and had champagne I think, LOL.
Actually it was Alan. Virgil piloted Thunderbird 2.
And at the end of the dream, Alan notices there's a huge gap between the car and the platform he's standing on. He tries jumping across...and falls out of bed!
This used to Scare the SHIT out of me!!

I think this movie could have had a better story line, a bit more focus on the thunderbird machine, but still it was good :)

It's a little hard to tell but it looks as though they finally had the budget to remove that lemon squeezer from Thunderbird One's launch bay.

No Dieselx08...NOW is as cheesey as hell...it's just that you're in the middle of it, so you can't see it.
Look back at today in 20 years time and I guarantee you will cringe with embarrassment at how cheesey it all is. Culturally, the 60's RULE!!! :-)

And the seventies and fifties!
AlbinoCaterpillar 1 year ago
@AlbinoCaterpillar agree 100% - the era from the 50s - 70s was the cultural high point of the 20th Century...possibly of all time!
