need to know of a movie where all soldiers are dead in the middle of a desert alone with a broken airplane nowhere but they don't know it. is set in the 50s l think cos is a black and white movie can someone help on this thankyou
Want to learn more about this fascinating aviation pioneer? Type "Charles Lindbergh: The Lone Eagle" into the search window and check out Steve Carroll's insightful one-man show about Lindy. Terrific play!
Lindbergh wasnt a Nazi, he flew combat missions for the US in WWII, and he extended the range that P-38 fighters and other aircraft could fly...he helped win the war for America!! He is a true patriot!
James Stewart is one of my favorite actors and aviators. He did his part in WWII as well as a pilot and spokesman for the Army Air Core. I have the utmost respect for him.
What an incredible movie this is! In fact, this is one of my own movie favorites that you want to watch on a rainy day! To JohnRogersly I'm sorry to disagree with you however, whether this movie was a commercial disaster or not a lot of people watching this wonderful trailer will come to believe the fact the Charles Lindbergh was a legend in his own time! That's what made the trans atlantic flight historicly famous to this day!
Jimmy Stewart was nearly 50 years old when he made this picture, playing a 25-year-old Charles Lindbergh. He got away with it -- barely -- thanks to his youthful looks, diffused lighting, not too many close-ups, and good old-fashioned Pan-Cake makeup!
Wow! crossing the north atlantic on a single engine airplane is amazing and such a great risk. HE did it in an aircraft with similar top speed to a cessna 172. I'd love to try and recreate this

Actually he didn't get away with it at all. His awful miscasting ruined the entire movie, which was a critical and commercial disaster.

I personally loved this movie. But, I love anything that Jimmy Stewart did. I thought Jimmy played a great young Charles Lindbergh.
