@DJSpikesan Rockville CITY are volunteer and protect over 250,000 people. but then again this is not uncommon in maryland like here in NY (other then long island)
@jazzbutterworth Dedicated members, these departments that run this many calls are usually staffed 100% of the time with a duty crew (a crew in the station ready to respond). As long as there's members that are ready to respond there's no need for career staff. I guess the volunteers just adapted with the growth of the city, so career staff was never thought of. I can assure you these men and woman are professional and can run with the career departments.Not a paid VS vol.we are all professional
