@hamsterboy13 yes i don't use any other than the one i make myself. The process of making the wood chips and burning them is kind of fun, seeing how aggressively it burns. Using an alcohol stove must take a really long time :/
@linutas yeah, that's the fun part, though it is less fun on an alcohol burner, it ones took me like 6 hours, and i HAVE to stay near the whole damn time T.T
@hamsterboy13 when i was making ma charcoal in a teeny tiney can outside, i used a tiny bucket to make fire in so i had to stay by it all the time too. Now in the winter im using a big can and burning it in the boiler or whatever its called in english , you saw the vid
@hamsterboy13 The worst thing to do in pyrotechnics for me is maybe making the charcoal airfloat. I ram it into my ballmill then put stones in the barrel and mill it for few hours. During all the making process theres loads of charcoal everywhere . Maybe in the summer its gonna be easier.
@linutas lol, i remember the first time that i made my C airfloat, my whole garage was black and i coughed black goo up for a whole week xD (i used a coffee grinder :/)
@hamsterboy13 Lol, i see we have a lot in common in this pyro business : :D I was making mine with coffe grinder too when i had no other tools, also everything i coughed was black lol. Now im using dust mask, protective glasses, also whem screening the charcoal im trying to not move or shake it too much then you dont get so much dust everywhere
@linutas yeah :P i don't even bother making it myself now, i either use charcoal for BBQ that i make airfloat or i buy it ( i don't really notice a big change, except that BBQ airfloat is somewhat greasy, it burns violently and leaves EXTREMELY long lasting sparks)
@hamsterboy13 For making sparks, such charcoal is good, but for fast bp not that good, also its really hard to crush that one, my cooked ones can just be crushed completely in my hand
@linutas no, i don't have anything like that in this house, we did have one at our old place though (4 years ago T.T) in this house EVERYthing is electrically powered...
btw. is this how you get ALL of your charcoal for fireworks?
