Funny thing: I freaked out over this (I can't stand the diving these days), but it turns out he did actually get an elbow to his face. It happened before both of those replays. There's another replay from far away that shows it. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if he's vastly exaggerating, but I concede I jumped the gun on this one. There was definitely contact. Jumping the gun is perfectly understandable, however. The amount of fake injuries and diving in this WC has been almost insufferable

This is why this sport isn't popular in the US. Faking injuries to draw calls or waste time happen way too often and aren't dealt with harshly. This is a sport where the cheapest team wins more often than the more skilled team (and then you have Brazil who is both skilled and cheap) add horrible officiating and a refusal to use technology to help improve the fairness and you have a debacle known as FIFA. I'm not against the sport, I HATE FIFA and their managment of the sport.
