Love, Love, Love Stacy Lattisaw! She is an Amazing talent. Delfonics were before my time-I thought this was ONLY Stacy's song. Delfonic's version is nice, but Stacy's is so touching and heartbreaking! Amazing for such a youngster!
@AprilRose504 Well there is no comparing Stacey to legends like the Delfonics, but Stacey did it justice, and at 12, she put her own spin on. Today's talent cannot touch the talent of back in the day. There are some, I must give credit where it's due, but most of today's talent would have their face laughed in if they tried to get a contract back in the day. They wanted talented singers then. I miss the raw talent you'd get when you put that record on, it was about voice not looks,no auto tune.
CHARLES, FROM THE FIRST TIME THAT I SAW YOU, I KNEW YOU WERE MADE FOR ME... RIP BABY....

Hey School I think its just a matter of appreciation.I think people need to do History all the way around when it comes to true Soul Music! We refered back to the 40s and 50s and carried the torch into the 60s and 70s!! Thats no longer the case! They hear and sample nowadays!! Maybe we should go back out on the streets and Sing in the alleys and corners!! Lol!
i prefer old skool any day compared to this new junk. i have the best of the delfonics in my cd collection. i love the delfonics. I loved her version of love on a two way street better also. but she had did hey there lonely boy a remake of eddie holman's hey there lonely girl I didn't really care for that version. but eddie holman's version is better than hers. I have a deep appreciation and respect for old skool. most of my cds in my cd collection are old skool .

i don't dislike you at all. i know and everybody else knows she can't hold a candle to the delfonics in a real competition. those guys will always be legends i like their version but i prefer stacy's she has had a good career and she had made many accomplishments. people don't take into consideration that when these people read the bad comments we put out about their feelings become hurt and they don't deserve that because they did their best they have feelings just like we do.
i have learned that they have feelings also i a sure stacy tried her best and she did a good job it was just time for her to do something else. and she is okay with that she is a happy and a saved person.
there are many people out there today that are terrible old skool is the best music. please do me a favor and accept my apology if i offended you and become my friend on here and check out my profile and tell me what you think i had to get her back because some of things you said were wrong.
it is just that i had to state the facts a lot of people think that she had a bad career and she didn't . I don't know if she will be legendary like the delfonics but people still like her. so please accept my apology if i affended you i love music.
stacyl, deniece williams, chaka khan, cherelle, angela winbush, can't do no wrong when it comes to music. but you do know your music and i am sure that you know a lot more about music than i do.
not being rude but she did have her own style..... I can see it on all her albums you have to remember she was 12 years old when she came out. take care yourself and please accept my apology i am on this site to enjoy myself not argue....
the dramatics, delfonics, intruders, the moments, mfsb, cameo, al hudson and one way, gq, ohio players, heatwave, that is all i basically listen to. I love old skool i just liked her version better i didn't even know that this was a remake. I don't enjoy patti lablles's or luther vandross's remakes. I don't care too much for many remakes sometimes they are terrible.
okay since I am a huge Stacy L. fan I listened to a clearer version of this song by the Delfonics. I still have to say that stacy wins this battle. But I do like the Delfonics. I think stacy puts more soul into it. The Delfonics were a great group if they are living the dramatics , the delfonics, the ojays, the spinners, and th
temptations, and other great male groups all need to get together to do a concert it will be a sell out I was fair with ths competion I listened toa clearer version.
this is a legendary group and I think that stacy won the battle she does sound better. I do have the best of the delfonics cd in my cd collection I love their music.
they would last and they will stand through the test of time. I am a huge SL fan and she has made many accomplishments in the industry I think that she was underrated and so were the delfonics I think they should have received more recognition than they did.
they don't make music like they used to anymore I wonder why.
stacy cant do any wrong in my sight or ear for that matter. I like her version was better and technology had a lot to do with it. Because she is such a babe he would win all day.
This is a very emotional song for me. When my Stepfather was killed by his best friend's father I was listening to this song. I was 10< Im 37 and this song makes me cry to this day.. Its a beautiful song, but she keeps him in my heart, because life occurs and you forget your love ones who have passed. Thanks Stacy
I grew up with Stacy and Johnny Gill and I'm a singer too, I love them both and Stacy did a very good job on this song you goo girl and we all miss you so much. Come back!!!!!!
Alright ya'll, quit ya cryin..lol Dave? I'm a man, & an Oldschool expert (see the screen name?). Now, I'm 55, so I go back to the 60's to early mid-70's. I'm a male vocal group nut, & to me, a song sung by a singing group is better than that by a soloist, ESPECIALLY some little kid that, if you really listen to her, wasn't any better than any other kid her age. Michael Jackson was EXCEPTIONAL at that age. She had no style, and no originality. And Dua, nothing personal with the moron comment.
Agree,I guess the younger sect only can go by what they were used to! I always prefer original versions including this one!! They know very little about the Delfonics also!! Stacy did not even last long, not that she was not good, but you have to be eceptional to make it in this biz and have staying power! Longevity cements ones legacy!!! The Fonics win here!! She may sound good here because this is done in the 80s with the use of enhancing techno to upbeat the songs!
stacy did last long and sha has 12 or 13 albums she is not a one hit wonder she is a legend and she is getting ready to be on unsung and she is getting ready to make a gospel album. her mother sung backup for marvin gaye and she is responsible for johnny gill becoming famous!!! stacy has her own production compant and have other businesses . she has a lot of music videos she has a wonderful voice and we love her and i am her friend on facebook i would call that longevity fom the 70's era-present
Yes Dreem and if Music would not have turned so trashy then her Legacy would have been cemmented. But since this is a Market -Money -trash era she never got a chance to be the Legend she could have been! I hear you Dream. I will check her out on Facebook!! Thanx !!
I hit u already on the invite!! You were not rude but you just formed your opinion like we all do! If this is how you feel the let it be! I am on here for the same reasons you are! Its ok!!
I agree dreem! Its ok! I am just one of the old guys who grew up with the Delfonics from their early days and just prefer their sound! This is no knock on Stacy, because she had a very nice voice.I guess her and a lot of the singers from the 80s are no longer around because they were not Video Sexpots like these singers are today! its all good Dreem!
even though she sings solo doesn't really make a difference i liked stacy and i still do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the delfonics also but stacy wins this competition!!!!
to be fair about the competetition i listened to a clearer version that the delfonics sing and she still sounds better.
she has the right to remake any song that she wants to. Sometimes remakes are better; I love Luther Vandross but he doesn't do remakes very good in my opinion. I really wish you would do some research on SL oldskoolsinger she was a little girl when she sang this song I amm sure that she didn't choose to do this song I am sure that her manager had chose her to do this song .
olsinger, go to amazon and you will see that stacy and johnny's duet with marilyn mccoo and billy davis jr-you don't have to be a star, endless love- diana ross/ lionel richie, to associated with those legends are seniority level if you ask me. this lady is good and you need to give her her credit. if you were somuch of an expert you will definitely know about stacy lattisaw don't hate on her talent and success I am only speaking the truth she have a lot of fans on you tube she has
Obviously "oldskoolsinger" doesnt know what he or she is talking about because Stacey Lattisaw had more than 2 to 3, let me help you. Perfect Combination, Million Dollar Babe, Let Me Be Your Angel, Miracles, Dynamite, Jump To The Beat, and more, it goes that people make comments don't listen to old skool like me. I every single artist from 60-90 and their hits. Its look you just came out of shell in the 90's, sorry you lose
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Excuse me..The Delfonics VS. Stacy Lattisaw? LOL Like saying Mike Tyson vs. Usher's little skinny ass. Obviously, all of you are in your late 30's or early 40's. Who the hell is Stacy Lattisaw?? The Delfonics are soul LEGENDS, and always will be. This little moron had what.....2 or 3 hits? And they were covers of soul classics? What, couldn't she find her own song to sing? Just like these kids today tryin to remake oldschool classics. Get a life, folks. NONE of them can sing. End of story.
This lady was actually a true talented artist who was molded by Narada Walden who is a legendary musician who worked with many great artists. Stacy Lattisaw can sing like a full grown woman at 13yrs old. She is a forgotten artist but she can blow many of these artists today off the stage. She did great remakes and origimals. She is nowhere near a moron. She became a reborn Christian and left the business.
whatever she did a remake of eddie holman's love on a two way street and she had a major hit with that song. she remade hey there lonely boy also that was a hit for her. She was nominated for an AMA award for let me be your angel. stacy has had a lot of hits her and johnny gill did a duet album together that had hits on it. stacy came out when she was twelve, her mother sang back up for marvin gaye, she has made a lot of accomplishments she has made many albums she has a lot of hits.
her first album you and in love by van mccoy ; did you ever watch good times where there was an episode when wanda had a rent party michael sung a song called young and in love that was stacy's song. Also, stacy is responsible for Johnny Gill's success if it wasn't for her he wouldn't be where he is today and he will tell you that she is currently working on her gospel cd and she is going to be on unsung she has her own production company and other businesses she is still doing well .
Both songz r beautiful, but sorry this is my all time fav Stacy Lattisaw song...she ownz the hell out of this song!! The Delfonics' has that oldies monotone sound & Stacy's is more melodic! I feel she did them very proud. R.i.p. Jo Jo Hunter...this was the song that back in the day we almost slow skated to...my big crush at age 15. I will always remember u when i hear this song!
Stacy OWNS THIS song, sorry... the delfonics sound like the chipmunks on crack, while Stacy nails it... She sounds like an absolute angel singing this track, they sound sick, like a bad American Idol audition... Yikes!
i love the stacy lattisaw version because it reminds me of my friend kenny who moved to queens n.y. and all the other friends i left behind when i moved to the private school and stacy lattisaw you go girl!
check olivia newton-john's version too...hers a little more upbeat.

The guy sounds like a girl, but Stacy copied almost every note and naunce of the song. I grew up on Stacy L, but I like the Sylistics too.

1975tooto 2 years ago
stacy did last long and sha has 12 or 13 albums she is not a one hit wonder she is a legend and she is getting ready to be on unsung and she is getting ready to make a gospel album. her mother sung backup for marvin gaye and she is responsible for johnny gill becoming famous!!! stacy has her own production compant and have other businesses . she has a lot of music videos she has a wonderful voice and we love her and i am her friend on facebook i would call that longevity fom the 70's era-present
karameldreem 2 years ago
Yes Dreem and if Music would not have turned so trashy then her Legacy would have been cemmented. But since this is a Market -Money -trash era she never got a chance to be the Legend she could have been! I hear you Dream. I will check her out on Facebook!! Thanx !!

when you check her out on facebook let me know what you think she is a very nice person.

karameldreem 2 years ago
OK Dreem you have more under your belt than I thought! I think todays music just got away from the basics.
1975tooto 2 years ago
I hit u already on the invite!! You were not rude but you just formed your opinion like we all do! If this is how you feel the let it be! I am on here for the same reasons you are! Its ok!!
1975tooto 2 years ago
stacy was very underrated and under appreciated untalented people receive all th recognition that is unfair!!
karameldreem 2 years ago
I agree dreem! Its ok! I am just one of the old guys who grew up with the Delfonics from their early days and just prefer their sound! This is no knock on Stacy, because she had a very nice voice.I guess her and a lot of the singers from the 80s are no longer around because they were not Video Sexpots like these singers are today! its all good Dreem!
1975tooto 2 years ago
you are right!!! people have the right to voice their opinion but it is good to know the facts before we voice our opinion.
I just wanted to make it clear that stacy did have a good career.
karameldreem 2 years ago
well, stacy still wins the competition
even though she sings solo doesn't really make a difference i liked stacy and i still do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the delfonics also but stacy wins this competition!!!!
karameldreem 2 years ago
to be fair about the competetition i listened to a clearer version that the delfonics sing and she still sounds better.
she has the right to remake any song that she wants to. Sometimes remakes are better; I love Luther Vandross but he doesn't do remakes very good in my opinion. I really wish you would do some research on SL oldskoolsinger she was a little girl when she sang this song I amm sure that she didn't choose to do this song I am sure that her manager had chose her to do this song .
karameldreem 2 years ago
olsinger, go to amazon and you will see that stacy and johnny's duet with marilyn mccoo and billy davis jr-you don't have to be a star, endless love- diana ross/ lionel richie, to associated with those legends are seniority level if you ask me. this lady is good and you need to give her her credit. if you were somuch of an expert you will definitely know about stacy lattisaw don't hate on her talent and success I am only speaking the truth she have a lot of fans on you tube she has
senority.
karameldreem 2 years ago
i love this song; i didn't know it was a remake i love stacy's version better; stacy it seems like you won!!!

I'm more use to Stacey's version and thats the one I prefer. The original sounds a little boring Stacey sound more up beat. I love this song anyway.

I also grew up on Stacy's version. Listening to the two versions, I love Stacy's the best...and I'm not a fan of remakes.
tamianicola 2 years ago
Obviously "oldskoolsinger" doesnt know what he or she is talking about because Stacey Lattisaw had more than 2 to 3, let me help you. Perfect Combination, Million Dollar Babe, Let Me Be Your Angel, Miracles, Dynamite, Jump To The Beat, and more, it goes that people make comments don't listen to old skool like me. I every single artist from 60-90 and their hits. Its look you just came out of shell in the 90's, sorry you lose

End of story.
oldschoolsinger 2 years ago
This lady was actually a true talented artist who was molded by Narada Walden who is a legendary musician who worked with many great artists. Stacy Lattisaw can sing like a full grown woman at 13yrs old. She is a forgotten artist but she can blow many of these artists today off the stage. She did great remakes and origimals. She is nowhere near a moron. She became a reborn Christian and left the business.
dua72 2 years ago
no she is not a forgotten artist i have all of her cds and she is currently my friend on facebbok!!!!!!!!!!
karameldreem 2 years ago
whatever she did a remake of eddie holman's love on a two way street and she had a major hit with that song. she remade hey there lonely boy also that was a hit for her. She was nominated for an AMA award for let me be your angel. stacy has had a lot of hits her and johnny gill did a duet album together that had hits on it. stacy came out when she was twelve, her mother sang back up for marvin gaye, she has made a lot of accomplishments she has made many albums she has a lot of hits.
karameldreem 2 years ago
her first album you and in love by van mccoy ; did you ever watch good times where there was an episode when wanda had a rent party michael sung a song called young and in love that was stacy's song.

I always liked the 1977 Delphonics version. Such a shame it is always omitted from their CD compilations. Truly a forgotten recording.
I can't help but wonder if the spelling on the label was an error as it had always been Delfonics prior to DTIAA

This is the album that had that sweet, memorable dance hit for little, little kids: "Attack of the name game".
Stacy hits it out of the park with this little ballad. Tender, lush, and wonderfully romantic.
Thank you for posting this song.
I hope someone posts the "Attack of the name game" song...someday.

Stacy OWNS THIS song, sorry... the delfonics sound like the chipmunks on crack, while Stacy nails it... She sounds like an absolute angel singing this track, they sound sick, like a bad American Idol audition... Yikes!

I grew up with Stacy's version and prefer a female vocal. whatever the case, Olivia Newton John recorded this prior to the Delfonics in '76!
