We are headed for a depression and it's coming soon. Ron Paul espouses the Austrian school of economics. The Austrian school says that during a depression you just let the depression wash over you. But what if people die during the depression?

@waterhead001 Yeah, I know. He was for it in order to kill Osama Bin Laden; now we're just nation building so it's pointless and unconstitutional. And more people will die in a depression that is greater than the one that will come now if the government gets in the way and prolongs it. Keynesian economics is what got us into this mess, it won't get us out. The sooner government gets in the way, the sooner and less harsh the natural correction will be. @asull822 Look at the Great Depression, the government got involved with FDR and his 'New Deal.' It went on for 15 years....Now, look at the depression of 1920-1921, the government cut taxes and spending, got out of the way, and it was over within a year. Please check your facts.

@asull822 True, but the depression of 1920-21 didnt last long because we had a strong industrial base, something we dont have now. FDR was trying to get people working again. The New Deal with it's flaws did help alot of people. I dont think Ron Paul is as much of a constitutionalist as he says he is. I was right about Obama being the same as Bush, everyone laughed at me. Do your own research on Ron Paul, be objective. Right now I think he's trouble. Find everything about him.

@asull822 Also, I wasn't much into politics when Obama came around. Therefore I wasn't on one side or the other. However, you have to look at his consistency. Paul has said the same things over and over again for 30 years. That should allow you to have some belief that he will actually deliver on what he says. Mitt Romney? Flip-flopper. Gingrich? CFR member and Corporate whore. Santorum? Warmonger. Obama? well, we've already seen what's happened. Ron may not be perfect-but who else is there?

There are some really good books on the subject. "!3 Bankers" is one Im reading now. The problem is we are talking about a government that is controlled by Wall Street. If Ron Paul gets elected will he stand up to them? I dont think he will. Fed should be nationalized not audited.

@waterhead001 Also he calls for capatal gains to be cut from .34% to .15% seems like he isnt very tough on them. His Austerity measures wont work either. I am distrustful of all politicians so I dont want you to think I'm only critical of Rep. Ron Paul.

@asull822 Look at Canada. In the early nineties, Canada's debt was just as bad as ours is today. However, they cut spending, got rid of governmental programs-now they're running surpluses with a much smaller government and the economy is great! If the problem is fire, the solution is water, not fire.

@asull822 The fed has always been a private bank. To me Ron Paul seems pretty friendly to Wall Street with his actions. One example of austerity measures not working is Germany in the early '30's. I wish I took notes, anyway Russia used the Austrian model of austerity in the early 90's and it did not work then. The question is who should pay? Us the american people or should Wall Street pay? On financial transactions ie deriviatives etc.

Can I just say to the maker of this video... that my reaction to this was:

@Msdominitrix Income tax does not pay for any government services. All federal income tax is paid to the interest on the borrowed money. The IRS is the hand that collects the money for the Federal Reserve. The Grace Commission in 1984 proves this. Direct tax in the gas prices pays for the roads. Some gas stations have stickers saying how much is tax in the prices. Property taxes pays for schools, landscape, sewers, sidewalks, local. Sales tax, dmv pays for government. etc; never income tax!

@Msdominitrix Income taxes only consist of 1/3rd of spending amounts, and if you can cut the budget by 1/3rd (which isn't hard to do--- what is it, like 2000 levels?), you can axe the entire income tax.
