I went to watch this in llandudno. They did a scene where they pretended to be in fast forward & Rick fell over, the back of his head hit the back ground set & it started teedering. Holy crap we thought the whole thig was gonna collaps, funny as hell!!!

I think it might be a professional need to mature. Not that his stuff with Rik is bad, but he's been doing it for so long that it dwarfed his other stuff. Let's keep in mind that Ade was also doing biting satire that didn't always rely on toilet humor and directing, and with Bottom he was simply doing a variation on a character.

Still, I hope he realizes he's doing a lot of good with this and goes back to Bottom and such.

Mayall's character in the young ones was a politically charged poet and self proclaimed anarchist. In his ranting he calls out eighties Brittish Priminister Margaret Thatcher's name as a root of all evil.

Edmondson's character in the young ones was a punkrocker with spiked hair (which is why he appears to spike his non existing hair) who constantly tormented Mayall's character for being a virgin and calling the Hippie character Neil (Nigel Planer) a bastard.
