Professors at Talbot seminary released their appologia for firing a wonderful Cambridge-trained Dean of students who was an Orthodox priest. Their vendetta fueled as it was by vitriol against anything that they deemed "heretical" failed to consider that the Baptist Church's own Statement of Belief shared much of what is Orthodox Christian understanding. They condemn themselves along with the Ancient Christian Church.

"..sanctam ecclesiam romanam orthodox".. since RC did not exist during St. Cyprian's lifetime..All was Orthodox Christian from Pentecost and the apostles' successors throughout the centuries. One Faith, one baptism in every language and nation by the grace of the All-Holy Spirit! Amen!

Thank you Matushka Judith! I remember when Biola sanctioned the late Fr. Michael Trigg, who was their registrar, I believe. And I fondly remember attending your mission parish last summer.

This is a tragic episode marking the Talbot professors' complete ignorance of Christianity.. Father Trigg was a gentle soul not ready for such attacks (who is?) and subsequently, became ill with Parkinson's which led to his untimely death. May God have mercy on those who brought this unjust attack upon him!

Their services are not worship of God, since there's so little teaching on the Holy Trinity and the Incarnation - the two foundational

insights from Holy Scriptures given to us by our Orthodox fathers. We've come down to pastor-personality cults and entertaining the "folks"...who pay their salaries. God help us!

Please forgive me as a johnny come lately. But as tempting it is to respond to our Calvinist and Independent Baptist lying critics in the manner in which they approach us. However please remember the Lord's words in Matthew 5:39-40 and Luke 6:29-30

The context of the verses you reference apply to those personally insulting us. However, we speak as evangelists for Christ's Gospel (2Tim 4: 2-5) "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.."

Teaching the Truth of Christ's salvation includes correcting false doctrines (i.e. Augustinian "depravity of human nature" "predestination"..and so on). Out of love of the brethren, we warn against the destructive fruit they bear in their adherents.
