my 7 week old Japanese Spitz seems to be making a honking sound which weezes and coughs it sounds really wierd!

any suggestions as to what i should do?

and is 7 weeks old to young to have a tracheal problem?

wow I never thought of hard food being a possible culprit til now! I mean it makes sense the softer the food less wear and tear. Plus we give them jerky treats. I am going to ask my vet about this.

Yes, my dog has the same problem, he's a Japanese Spitz. soft food, and fresh air help him a lot, however you need to brush his teeth regularly, because the soft food tend to deteriorate their teeth when they're older.

My 15+ Poodle mix Brandy has this. There is no vet where I live and all I can do is deal with the constant "honking" all day and night.

She can't eat too much hard food at one sitting or else she tries to throw it all up while she walks around whining.
