  • Happy Birthday Peter tork.I used to play with Debra Nesmith in New Orleans, La. I am still in love with Mike Nesmith.Mrs. Betty, Mike's mom was living in Arabi,la. When mIke was doing the monkees. I was so lucky to have her as a friend,

  • Peter! plays so many instruments and is so intelligent.

  • Sheeeesh! Why bother to play with all that noise going on?

  • @IzziBella234 ...lol...maybe he always was back then! - The most beautiful hippie ever (in my eyes)!

  • aaaawwww he's a cute little Monkey!

  • I would walk in the quiet and green with him anytime.

  • Wipe the snot monkee from your nose

  • @Tarn1968 Peter actually played guitar, piano, banjo, and french horn (if not more instruments) by the time this happened.

  • @notthatbasic I think he tried to learn some more after this also

  • @notthatbasic ..Yeah..very talented musician..I love his harpsichord playing on "The Girl I Knew Somewhere"

  • Funny how none of them had individual success. Wouldn't say that they were talentless but you would have thought at least one of them would have done soemthing.

  • @namsak ....Peter still tours with his band "Shoe Suede Blues"

  • man.............peter's tearing it up! hey, this is to all the ones who said they can't or don't play there instruments.well peter and mike really could and did.they just had alot of problems getting there songs pushed threw the bullshit factory! the corporate record industry fucked these guys and so many great artists, thank goodness for punk rock! you people have no idea...

  • Ah, I love this clip so much! I watch it often, just to listen to the segments where you can actually *hear* Peter playing the banjo. Such a talented musician. I wish there was an album recording of this, without the screaming fans. (Although I can't really complain; this is one of the most audible songs from that concert!)

  • Pete was the hottest Monkee, such a cutie!

  • The great thing about Peter Tork and Al Jardine is they introduced the folk element into their respective groups.

  • Peter been the love of my life....And a Hottie.

  • Got to hug Peter many times....such a cutie

  • That was a talented motherfucker.

  • i don't know any Monkeys. but i know a lot of jackass. lol

  • ..

mother fucker looks just like bruno

  • PETER IS someone you meet every now and then. I was lucky enough to meet him in my memory. Australia 1969.

  • How is Peter doing now?

  • very nice :)

  • This is so cool. He's always been my favorite Monkee ... I had never seen this one before. Thanks to whoever posted this! (I wanted to write him too, but was too shy!)

  • Peter ..

Best of luck in this fight with Cancer.

  • What is this?! Does Peter have cancer?! Oh, my goodness. Peter, if you read this, you are in my prayers, my friend. God is a God of miracles.

  • Pop icon Peter Tork of 1960s super-group The Monkees diagnosed with rare cancer!

Peter, 67, will be going under the knife today in Manhattan in an attempt to halt the spread of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

  • This is my favorite Peter performance ever. He looks heavenly in all white.

  • Happy B-Day Peter...2-13 !!!! :):):):) xxoo

  • yeah, Pete does look good for his age...i also have signed pics of him and signed cd's...he is generous, i dig his column!!

  • Believe it or not, in 2008 Peter started an online advice column for The Daily Panic. He gives very thoughtful answers.

  • I really wonder why Mike wouldn't let him play banjo on "What Am I Doin Hangin Round?" since he obviously can play the heck out it!

  • Peter is absolutely wonderful. I love him and his music. He was always so horribly underrated...

  • I love these guys. The monkees and The Beatles are my two fave bands ever. I <3 the beatles and monkees! And i'm only twelve. lol.

  • peter was the most talented out of all four. believe it.

  • Beyond a shadow of a doubt!

  • Who knew Peter could play clawhammer banjo!? Pretty good too!

  • I think it might be Seeger style, but we only get two seconds of his hands.

  • Man can he rock at that banjo!!!! What a guy!!! I love this song! His dimply smile, his hair, his concentration --- there's just too many great things about him I like!!!

  • I wish I could shake your hand, Peter Thorkelson.

  • ooo Mike looks so good putting his shirt!! Lol. :p

  • wish there was the full performance!

  • I never knew white pants could look so good before! What a handsome guy. I love this clip!

  • I hate the fact that these screaming fans don't give a shit about the music. I mean he's probably not the best folk singer ever, and I like Don McLean's version of this song better, but it's a nice song, it's a bit different from the songs performed at a Monkees show and he's obviously enjoying it.

    Too bad nobody heard it.

  • Laulepoisson you are right the screaming does seem to drown out his performance, but have to confess I would have been screaming too! Also, they probably did not have the best sound systems back then, it's probably not fair to blame the fans for being enthusiastic. Audience enthusisam is all part of the excitement of a live performance!

  • Peter...I love you want I want to pet your hair.

  • That darn dimple is so cute. All these years later, that dimple inspires me to want to do things...wonderful things to the owner of that beautiful dimple. Peter is so cute!!!

  • Peter's hair is so adorable! and so is he indescribable words with him. my favorite monkee ;D oh! 0:13 i love him SO much! *hugs 60's Peter and smiles* yeah Peter! lots of clapsand yes, he is a little hippie sin't he? walking around with nature. but he's my little hippie. ;D lol

  • I totally agree lithkitty, love Peter's hair and smile, he's kind of a loveable nerdy hippie intellectual type...I like the advice column he is doing now (check out his website)...what a doll! :)

  • OPTIK RUSSIA!!!!

  • Yay Peter! He is so hot! :p

  • Peter is still incredibly handsome. He sent me a pic in the mail a couple weeks ago and WOW. I simply CAN NOT believe he will be 67 next month. He doesn't look a day over 40, tops.

  • He does look amazing for 67! How did you get his picture in the mail?

  • that is so awesome!!! Peter is very cute, but yet again I think they all are :)

  • I wrote him a letter and he replied. :-)

  • awesome, that is so cool! :)

  • Did he reply or did he send you an autographed photo?

  • He's so sweet. I've written him twice too and both times he's replied back as well. I adore him, I think he is a very lovely man.

  • Really? I'd love to e-mail him.

  • oh, i love peter and his banjo!

I never knew he played either.

  • My favorite episode---next to "The Frodis Caper".

  • Does anyone know if there is a studio recording of this. I would kill to hear this without all the screaming girls!

  • Ooh, ditto.

Fangirls kill most concert recordings, though. Blehh.

  • "They're playing, Peter"

and Peter's like, "Wait. I Gotta check my hair."

    So cute.

  • buenisimo!

  • I think Peter is the smartest, kindest and such a sweat person. I have never met Mike so I can't say mcuh about him, but I met with the rest of them.

  • For you and wouldntyouike2know, I myself am deeply jealous.

  • Me too!!

  • LOVELY VIDEO MONKEEMEN

  • Peter is probably the sweetest Monkee I know.

  • How many Monkees do you know? ;)

  • Just three. I only have met three, but Peter is the nicest. Davy is nice too, but Peter is the sweetheart.

Mike is very unique,he's sweet too, but he is very different than the rest.

  • @monkeemen I know three Monkees. Peter, Davy, and Mike. <3

  • @wouldntyoulike2know In alot of ways he's my favorite. The Monkees don't get enough credit. Yes, they were put together. But, they were actually really good. Look at the bands that are put together these days. They are just horrible. At least the Monkees had talent.

  • @fatcatbuzz I agree. And I think its so unfair that they are not even considered for the 'Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.' I seriously think they deserve it so much more than some of the acts that are inside there already. I have loved the Monkees for such a long time. I really love how feel good their music is. :)

  • @wouldntyoulike2know ..and the best Monkee musician

  • @neurofire Absolutely. :)

  • @wouldntyoulike2know i had the BIGGEST crush on him and Nesmith...sigh

  • Yes I do.......I also play several instruments,Take a look at my video's

  • Poor Peter ! Kids making too much noise!

  • i know i could barely hear him over the girls

  • But He's a Great player .......never mind !

  • he is an amazing player..

    i know what u mean

  • Yes your right! For me he's the most talented

    monkee.

  • yeah i know....did you know that he played or still playes 9 instrunments....
