He's made a couple of duff films which didn't work (such as Da Vinci code films, Bonfire of the Vanities) plus I was never much of a fan of Forrest Gump, found it too mawkish and sentimental. But when you've made some of the most entertaining films in the last 30 years such as Big, Splash, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Cast Away, Green Mile, Catch Me if You Can and The Terminal, then all mistakes are forgiven
