Maaan!!! they could of did better then this & they could of made it to where he fought crime with his boxing gloves or something because him being in space dosen't make any sense & i think it's a mockery to a black man
DAMMMMMNNNNN, I promise...you went WAY back on they ass on this one. True Saturday morning old school goodness!! I swear I love the mutha fuckin internet
This cartoon was made based on his high popularity at the time. The cartoon had him do impossible things such as wrestle alligators, fly planes and be stronger than most men. But it was very positive...and Ali did a live 3 minute lesson at the end of each episode. Many say this wasnt a big thing, but without this, the Mr. T cartoon wouldnt have been popular in the 80s and used the same format from this series.
I've been trying to get a copy of these cartoons for a long long time. I remember these when I was a kid. They were on just before the Star Trek cartoon on NBC Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. I wanted to expose my three year old to these. Where on Earth can I get a copy of these? Can anybody help? They are no where to be found. The poster doesn't answer my e-mails...
Ali's Real life is almost cartoon like even Mythical when you think about it. Like Hercules or Robin Hood. Slaying Giants and Monsters (Foreman Liston) waging epic battles against the greatest Warriors (Frazier Norton etc), Fighting (The Government) for the oppressed never backing down and connecting with all people around the World. Truly Beloved & Respected Ali was the Real Man of Steel and the Greatest of All Time Love'm great post.
This is fu%&ing crazy! I need my very own cartoon since Muhammad Ali has one. I want to be a Timelord agent from the CIA going around fighting aliens and saving hot sexy women and have Michael Turner draw the cartoon epsiodes on his computer.
GOD!! Thanks for putting this up! Everyone thought I was crazy when I mentioned this cartoon. Nobody believed that it existed! I couldn't even find it on imdb.
this cartoon rules, what your forgeting is this is from 78, name a better cartoon from that year. n this is better then that pokemon fuckin shit, those fuckin cartoons keep comin back with a vengeance im tellin you. and voyboy, if what your sayins true, thats some ridiculous crap i just dont wanna see, talkin ass baseball glove.. whats this world coming to? lol :)
Hah. Try watching Macaulay Culkin's "Wishkid" show. He had a magic talking baseball glove. Now THAT was some ridiculous crap. At least this had a plot, and dramatic pacing.
WOW! I haven't seen this cartoon since I was a kid! It came out in 1978 on NBC (just after "The Archie and Sabrina Show." I thought I was the only one who remembered this cartoon. Thanks a million for this clip!!!
Did you know this is based off of a true story? Ali was an astronaut while he was exiled from boxing and traveled to MANY differant planets having advetures... ofcouse most do not know of it because he was a BLACK man in a WHITE world. This stuff really did happen to him though. The Koran would NOT allow him to lend his voice to a lie.
this cartoon was one of my favorites...the show was on nbc for a season but due to low ratings didnt come back on...Ali played himself in the cartoon.
I USED TO WATCH THIS!!!!!!!!!! I have been looking for this all over and this is the only one on YT thanks for posting this!!

Boy, it seems like they can make a cartoon of just about anything back then. This Muhammad Ali cartoon was horrible.

The cartoon is a trifle bit flaky, but I love the implication of WEAPONS-GRADE SPECIAL EFFECTS at 6:41

I watched the first episode of this when it debuted back in 1977. I didn't see any need to watch any further episodes. It was pretty lame.

My God !! This is amazing. I'm 52 yrs old and I have NEVER seen these cartoons. I was serving overseas during this period
also never saw the original Richard Pryor show for the same reason. NBC did show more Blacks than the other networks
thanks for the show

Yes, Ali did his own voice.
The cartoon was produced by an obscure outfit called Farmhouse Films... even cheaper than Filmation!

lon40 4 years ago
The shadows on the layouts and a few other things make me think it might be Grantray, who produced the 1967 Spiderman series.
raposofan 4 years ago
It wasnt Grantray-Lawrence. The Canadian Animation company went bankrupt in 1967...
thedrknghtno1 3 years ago
Great! This is precisely the kind of animated show from the 70's that Robert Smigel loves to parody on his "Tv Fun House" segments for SNL.

Gino. Parody of Dino Delaurntis. The giant robot Brakzor and the man in the suit Brakzor, it is just making fun of how KING KONG was done 1976.
