  • I USED TO WATCH THIS!!!!!!!!!! I have been looking for this all over and this is the only one on YT thanks for posting this!!

  • Cool, it's Mohammed Ali's adventures with 1970s porno music. :)

  • now i see why this was cancelled in 5 months lol

  • whoever had the idea to make a cartoon of the g.o.a.t. is a fuckin genius

  • Not having Howard Cosell as his outer space sidekick is a serious missed opportunity.

  • @bps3013 That would have been possibe if this cartoon was shown on ABC.

  • Maaan!!! they could of did better then this & they could of made it to where he fought crime with his boxing gloves or something because him being in space dosen't make any sense & i think it's a mockery to a black man

  • This show gives me the chills, the willies and the heebie-jeebies

  • Lol its obvious ali was reading off a script.

  • I never ever knew Muhammad Ali had a cartoon. And this was smack dab during my childhood years, too (1977)! Interesting.

  • why the hell is Ali in outerspace smh

  • lmfao

    what the hell o.O

  • cool....i love it

  • holy shit they made a cartoon?

  • @worriorofallah That's right, mothascratcha!

  • @worriorofallah That's the fact jack! They even had a comicbook published around this time called 'Superman VS Muhammed Ali'

    seriously they did.

  • You talk about childhood memories. I haven't seen this in over 30 yrs. Great post "palitoy".

  • wtf LOOOOLL..i knew the Superman vs. Ali comic but this..it is like this MR.T stuff...

  • This is actually a good cartoon.

  • Lol its so cheesy its like a parody of itself!

  • DAMMMMMNNNNN, I promise...you went WAY back on they ass on this one. True Saturday morning old school goodness!! I swear I love the mutha fuckin internet

  • "Ali! Ali! Ali!"

  • this and Mr. T. Wierdest cartoons ever. Couldnt've made them any wierder if they was shot live.

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • wth

  • he 's mij hero

  • rofl thats awsome

  • looooooool

  • Oh my....

  • What cartoon company produced this series?

  • the things shown on this cartoon actually happen but they found it would be in the children's best interest to animate it :D

  • someone cvhsange the tite to:

    MUHAMMAD ALI IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

    MAGIC

    lol

  • What the heck is THIS?? Are they serious? This was a cartoon?? LOL!

  • Boy, it seems like they can make a cartoon of just about anything back then. This Muhammad Ali cartoon was horrible.

  • The cartoon is a trifle bit flaky, but I love the implication of WEAPONS-GRADE SPECIAL EFFECTS at 6:41

  • I watched the first episode of this when it debuted back in 1977. I didn't see any need to watch any further episodes. It was pretty lame.

  • Uh....there wasn't really ever a NEED to watch any of the saturday morning stuff.

  • AHAHAHA! This is crazy! I would have paid good bucks back in the day to see Ali get in the ring with an Aligator!

  • I never heard anything about Ali having a cartoon! This is awesome vintage stuff!

  • This cartoon was made based on his high popularity at the time. The cartoon had him do impossible things such as wrestle alligators, fly planes and be stronger than most men. But it was very positive...and Ali did a live 3 minute lesson at the end of each episode. Many say this wasnt a big thing, but without this, the Mr. T cartoon wouldnt have been popular in the 80s and used the same format from this series.

  • This is waaay too much... I wish they still made cartoons like this.

  • My God !! This is amazing. I'm 52 yrs old and I have NEVER seen these cartoons. I was serving overseas during this period

also never saw the original Richard Pryor show for the same reason. NBC did show more Blacks than the other networks

    thanks for the show

  • Yes, Ali did his own voice.

The cartoon was produced by an obscure outfit called Farmhouse Films... even cheaper than Filmation!

  • did ali do his own voice?

  • :34 ALI MAH BOI

  • typtical the aliens hating on the black man

  • I've been trying to get a copy of these cartoons for a long long time. I remember these when I was a kid. They were on just before the Star Trek cartoon on NBC Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. I wanted to expose my three year old to these. Where on Earth can I get a copy of these? Can anybody help? They are no where to be found. The poster doesn't answer my e-mails...

  • not sure i never knew there was a ali cartoon i was born in 1984 but i think there is a bruce lee cartoon witch i am after

  • u r fuckin kiddin me rite...

  • I wonder what studio did the animation.

  • The shadows on the layouts and a few other things make me think it might be Grantray, who produced the 1967 Spiderman series.

  • It wasnt Grantray-Lawrence. The Canadian Animation company went bankrupt in 1967...

  • Great! This is precisely the kind of animated show from the 70's that Robert Smigel loves to parody on his "Tv Fun House" segments for SNL.

  • The music sounds like a jazz funk fusion track.

  • Ali's Real life is almost cartoon like even Mythical when you think about it. Like Hercules or Robin Hood. Slaying Giants and Monsters (Foreman Liston) waging epic battles against the greatest Warriors (Frazier Norton etc), Fighting (The Government) for the oppressed never backing down and connecting with all people around the World. Truly Beloved & Respected Ali was the Real Man of Steel and the Greatest of All Time Love'm great post.

  • OMG! This so cool I barely remember this thanks for posting it. I Luv Ali the Superman.

  • Gino. Parody of Dino Delaurntis. The giant robot Brakzor and the man in the suit Brakzor, it is just making fun of how KING KONG was done 1976.

  • This is fu%&ing crazy! I need my very own cartoon since Muhammad Ali has one. I want to be a Timelord agent from the CIA going around fighting aliens and saving hot sexy women and have Michael Turner draw the cartoon epsiodes on his computer.

  • too bad Michael Turner passed away in June

  • many things came to mind when u mention ali but astronaut is not one of them. i bet this lame cartoon lasted about 7 seconds

  • Cassius Clay has his own 'toon.

  • this was fictional SouthernGentleman5.. sorry to break it to you

  • The guy was a boxer not a space man!

  • GOD!! Thanks for putting this up! Everyone thought I was crazy when I mentioned this cartoon. Nobody believed that it existed! I couldn't even find it on imdb.

  • I can totally imagine people thinking that. Ali probably didn't even understand what nitrogen and carbon were (don't get me wrong, I love Ali).

  • damn where can i buy this, this rocks like cocaine and baking soda

  • awesome show thanks for sharing!!...loved it

  • hehe thats nice

  • I'M BE'N ATTACKED BY SOME'IN!!

  • I think this is a cool show. Better than these 90s/00s shows.

  • this cartoon rules, what your forgeting is this is from 78, name a better cartoon from that year. n this is better then that pokemon fuckin shit, those fuckin cartoons keep comin back with a vengeance im tellin you. and voyboy, if what your sayins true, thats some ridiculous crap i just dont wanna see, talkin ass baseball glove.. whats this world coming to? lol :)

  • It's Muahmad Ali. In FUCKING space.

  • Is that a tiny Laila Ali in the theater?! LOL

  • He was not a bigot. The white haters were. This is better than that Fat Albert junk yard crap.

  • Are there anymore crapy cartoons besides this, the Mr.T and Chuck Norris ones? I love them.

  • It's now official: EVERYTHING is on Youtube. :)

  • man, this is the worst shit i've ever seen.

  • Hah. Try watching Macaulay Culkin's "Wishkid" show. He had a magic talking baseball glove. Now THAT was some ridiculous crap. At least this had a plot, and dramatic pacing.

  • Ali a bigot? what do you mean?

  • WOW! I haven't seen this cartoon since I was a kid! It came out in 1978 on NBC (just after "The Archie and Sabrina Show." I thought I was the only one who remembered this cartoon. Thanks a million for this clip!!!

  • This is as bad as that MC Hammer cartoon "Hammerman".

  • do you remember the gary coleman cartoon? that was another bad cartoon.

  • Did you know this is based off of a true story? Ali was an astronaut while he was exiled from boxing and traveled to MANY differant planets having advetures... ofcouse most do not know of it because he was a BLACK man in a WHITE world. This stuff really did happen to him though. The Koran would NOT allow him to lend his voice to a lie.

  • this cartoon was one of my favorites...the show was on nbc for a season but due to low ratings didnt come back on...Ali played himself in the cartoon.

  • Can you believe they gave this bigot a show?

  • I remember seeing this sometime in the late 70s.

  • Inbetween this, Mr. T, and Hammerman, is it just me, or do black people always get bad cartoons? O_o

PS. Is that really Ali voicing himself?

  • No it is you, dragonrider.

  • lol

  • weird, there aren't many episodes

  • I saw this cartoon shown daily on tv when I was in Cincinnati in the hospital in the late 70's or early 80's. Never saw it on Saturday mornings.
