Good work again mate, you have some unique structures in your area, reminds me of some of the houses from our early settlers here in Australia, especailly in the old cattle stations etc, should really do something like this myself!!
Europe has aged old structures. Ours is a fairly new country so we still have pioneer structures. I would have a hard time finding a 300 year old structure here.
Thank you Teresa (My wife's name is Theresa also). There is something about making these videos that is really rewarding to me. I enjoy others enjoying them, but the filming and putting the clips together is also enjoyable. I spent the whole day last Saturday in Paint Rock Valley doing these and I was richly rewarded.
One can go back to a house and a family, but going back home means more than just to the house and the family, I think it has to be the same feelings one has of home that was had before leaving it the first time. That's really hard to do sometimes.
Beautiful old structures Richard. I love this stuff.
I used to hop on my motorcycle and ride through NH looking for old Barnes and houses to photograph. Some of them had been there for years and years and were in really bad shape. My friends thought I was crazy for finding beauty in them.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I'm told. I still have some pictures of the barns and some old store buildings I shot while on my walkabout Saturday, I'll try to post them today.
Be well. Finding beauty in simple things brings much pleasure.
Some of these houses go back to a time before electricity was available to many of them and were homes of hard working farm families. I'm glad some still stand.
Sure do appreciate your Paint Rock Valley videos. It's been over 23 years since I was last in the valley. Brings back lots of memories.

LOve the farm house. Are any of these for sale?
creolelady182 2 years ago
Hardly any sell, the families tend to hang on to most of them

Thanks. Yes some of these houses go back 75-100 years. Not bad considering this was still native American country 200 years ago.
Yes please do some clips of such places in your part of the world.

They look like they're straight out of a film set. Probably because we don't have that sort of architecture here.

One can go back home if their home is accessable.

Seeing old homesteads makes me wonder how many families made those houses "Homes", and all the history that could be told "if those walls could talk"

...reminds me of old stories from Mark Twain. I can understand that you love your 'Heimat'.

Mark Twain is one of my favorites. He wrote about us. Guess we all love our homeland.
