I love this. he can charm the "strings" off the guitars! :)Many Congradualtions to him on his award, from a great granddaughter of Cherokee. Understand as a kid, what they wwent thru from older stories,..shame, hunger, death, indignity the worst,of all.
I loved Blackfoot back in the day and still do,but they will never be the same or even close to the same without Jackson Spires on the drums. One night back in the 80's a buddy and I were at a local club where local bands played. We were hanging out and all of a sudden I spotted Charlie Hargrett there and I pointed to him,and he saw me,but then next thing I know he leaves.Shoot,I wouldn't have made a fuss just cause I saw him there.I woulda just say hey and loved your music.Oh well, too much stardm
@Alhambrattp He was a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd briefly in 1970 as a drummer before he left to pursue other musical interests but rejoined the band in 1996 after Gary Rossington asked him to join..
wow! NEVER thought Id see Rickey sing this again! all time Rock N Roll classic...I remember them playing this on tour in 79 and 80. STRIKES is still my favorite album. Congrats , Rickey
im so fucking happy a couple a hours ago i went to the concert of lynyrd skynyrd and in the middle of free bird Rickey tell me to the stage and he have me his Plectrum ^^ and he told me that i listen good music for my age and he likes my jacket of Lynyrd skynyrd god and Guns ^^ .... IM SO FUCKING HAPPY !!!!!!!
this band is alot better than Greg Walker's Blackfoot, but I am glad Rickey is right at home with lynyrd Skynyrd! God Bless Rickey Medlocke and Lynyrd Skynyrd, 2010 will be an awesome year for them!
I'd rather see him fronting too and I have dozens of times before his very serious throat problem and after he came back but I believe he would not be able to physically sustain full time fronting now. If it were 40 minute opening act shows yeah perhaps. Must say he does sound pretty good here.
One of the most under rated rockers of all time.. It would be cool if Rickey would take sometime away From Skynyrd and rejoin Blackfoot.. Dont get me wrong, I love skynyrd too.. Never miss them when they hit Minnesota,
I never thought I would hear Rickey do a Blackfoot song again, this just made my day, I still can't believe hearing the guitar solo for Train, Train being played this recently live. Navarre...(Beautiful One)
Well, he did right it, and it was a huge hit, so it makes sense, but I can't see him doing more than Train Train and Highway Song in his solo stuff. Skynyrd should do Train Train since he's in the band now.

Rickey could put Blackfoot back together, all original except for the late great Jackson Spires and open up for Skynyrd every night...

Rickey is right at home fronting his own band. I would rather see him with Blackfoot than Skynyrd
