I think the only way to answer some of the questions here is to simply single hand a 26ft sail boat from San Francisco to Hawaii. Great job and thanks for posting this. Very honest.
Do you smoke out while at sea? Why dont you fish for food? If I was you I would have multi poles in the water 24/7 and a fish finder. You are filming fish at the top of the water. How much food did you take on a trip like this? Did you have a fridge? And how did you get your boat across the US from new york?
@Thomasfelix83 I smoked sometimes. Borkum riff cherry cavendish rolled up in paper! I don't like fishing. And I took a lot of food. Maybe three large shopping trolley's full. No fridge. SUV & trailer.
kind of land locked now....its fucking boring....just got a new cat....fuck got to get back to my boat....its in mexico and I am in colorado....fucking hate land
@MrZeus169 I hear ya... No point hating where you are though - Colorado is nice... I went there once. Save up some cash, and then back onto the boat! A cat? Kind of hard to sail with, but a nice companion! I hope it's black! Good luck sailor.
Why is it you never seem to be enjoying the trip? What's the point if you're miserable all the time? I didn't get to see ALL your videos. Maybe there's ONE where you're smiling....
@dboboc I've already answered this question before, but I'll answer it again slightly differently: Do you see athletes running up hills with grins? Rarely. Is it fun climbing Everest? Unlikely. Is it smiles and giggles thousands of miles away from anyone, alone in a leaky boat? Not really. These things are done for other reasons. For memories, for achievement, for the pain. As an aside, I wasn't miserable all the time - When I was miserable I turned the camera on to vent.
@bigoceansvoyage The wife and I have owned 3 sailboats now and have done a lot of sailing. We never considered it anything other than a joy. We have close friends that have done the transpac numerous times, and they repeat the journey because they love it. I don't hear of many people repeating a mountain climb because there is the pain there, but sailing across an ocean to new lands? That should be mostly pleasure. That is why there are thousands of people of all ages that have taken to it.
hey i love all of your videos, i was wondering if you've ever traveled on the intracoastal in florida. reason i'm asking is i live on the intracoastal in north florida. if you ever come through let me know :)
I love your youtube, website and FB posts. I also love your honesty and fully understand why the human spirit longs for such hardships.
Keep up the search my friend. My ship soon sets sail as well.
Cheers,
Curtis
