i dont understand the anti-hunters out there if they would take the time and go out with a respectable hunter so that it can be shown that we arent all assholes and we have ethics that most others wouldnt i dont know many nonhunters who would be willing to do that and i dont undersatnd why everytime hunting comes up someone has to run their mouth about it
how do they think we got food before their were grocery stores
He's gonna get made fun of so bad by the other bucks. "Haha! Unihorn! Unihorn!" Poor guy. Oh well, he'll shed them soon enough and then have the biggest rrack of them all.
@PricelessMoney97 I know you are just 14 and you do know a few things about deer (Shedding) the only things out of place is the Horn comment. I replaced "Unihorn" with "Uniantler" and read your words and it was funny as hell thanks! Cheers young fella
nice to see people like you still exist. somebody shot a deer that weighed less then 40 pounds at our hunting club.... still had spots.. fucking pussys
@LeaveTroll it might surprise you that a "lone" yearling deer might look like a adult Doe from long range. It is one of the reasons why we have "Antlered" and "Antlerless" tags and seasons here. A small deer is like veal but not what a hunter is after generally. Spots can turn into a solid color at a distance especially if the fella had used open sights and had no binoculars. Then again I was not there when the hunter shot the said deer you speak off so who knows. Cheers :)
he was hunting in a wooded area with a tree stand, so there wasn't any way that it could of been that far away. he killed its mom too, so i think he knew what he was doing. i understand that killing is necessary for survival, but not in these times. hunting is more of a sport, and he played the sport without honor.
@LeaveTroll I will assume you are right. My opinion of that would be of disgust as well. I am not against tree stands (I am not fond of heights myself lol) but he sounded a bit too trigger happy to me. When I was 14 I had a rough introduction to big game hunting. I was on top of a hill and spotted a buck. I injured it but it got away. (Can explain more detail) A couple weeks later in Doe season I shot a Doe. It turn out to be a yearling Doe. It was my first Deer and I learned a lot.
@LambentHedgehog I disagree. It wouldn't have been "fair game" after experiencing that trauma. A good hunter wouldn't shoot an animal after freeing it (unless, of course, it wasn't sport hunting and the hunter needed the meat for necessity). Even if you don't hunt, you should be able to feel the morality of that idea.
It's not like hunters HATE deer or anything. I'm a deer hunter, and I don't laugh or like seeing deer in pain. I always try to make ethical and quick shots. Hunters care more about animals and the environment way more than any PETA fanatics do.
@watertower7 i know of several shoot and slit types they shoot the deer and then run up to it even if it looks like it was agood shot and slit the throat deep enough to cut the major arteries through!!
@helema23 The people who do stuff like that are about 5% of the actual hunters. Anti-hunters see people do things like that and then they think all hunters do it. That's why everyone is against hunting these days although they are too stupid to actually read about it and figure out what hunting is actually like.
@watertower7 so you are saying the good practice of shoot and slit it only 5% when the majority do it? you do know what shoot n slit means right? it means they shioot it then show mercy by ending its life quickly by slitting the throat no matter how good the shot! it makes sure they dont suffer!
You can't deny that there are some who shoot and kill just for the sake of shooting and killing. If I may ask, do you hunt for the meat, or what do you do with the kill?
@MizukiUkitake I hunt for the meat and to limit the deer on the roads. I live in a rural area, and during the rut it's not even safe to drive as there are so many deer on the roads at night.
I believe most hunters have ethics. I'm still upset with myself that I hit a deer low yesterday. She made it over a fence and I never found her. I am angry at myself for not making a better shot, for the injury to the animal, and the waste of good venison.
In my opinion, most hunters respect their dogs more than a lot of 'liberals' respect their kids. Example, Alec Baldwin PETA freak cussing his daughter.
Nice, and i love the fact that there is never a "Animals Rights Activist, Peta member saves deer." Its because they sit on their fat asses and try and chew down hunters all the time. Its ALWAYS a hunter saving animals in situations like this.
An ethical man knows it's wrong to cheat on his wife, however, the moral man actually would not, that's the difference between being ethical or moral.
COMPASSION OVER KILLING RATES IT HIGH IN THE SPIRIT OF HIGHER CONSCIENCE. I KNOW IT FELT BETTER TO SAVE THAT DEER THAN TO EGO KILL A DEER. GLAD I DON'T EAT ANIMALS AND I AM HEALTIER THAN MOST. @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR Get off your high horse brosis. Don't act as if you're higher than us carnivorous folk just because you have chosen to not eat meat. A good hunter understands and loves life more than you could even imagine. The greatest amount of wildlife conservation funds comes from hunters and their families. They're the ones planting trees, creating habitat for water fowl reintroducing natural predators to habitats, cleaning up the trash, and educating the world about nature.
I congradulate you on you sportsnmanship. I have many friends who would have just killed it there. If your gonna hunt deer, better to save that tag for the right moment

In California, it's illegal to have a fence designed with sharp tops if you live where deer happen to roam. It's for their safety.

Wow, this video has gotten popular!
I just wanted to make a few points clear.
1. The person holding the camera was trying to avoid being hit by the fleeing deer.
2. The fence was cut, NOT the antler.
3. There is NO video of the squirrel attack. Sorry.
