well, the blades screw on, coutnerclockwise, if you cant pull them off you will have to do what I did in the video and remove the 4 poles that hold the head together, when taking them out be carefull to remember how many turns each one turns before coming off. this will alow you to go inside and remove the blades from the shaft. its prob just dirty, use sewing machine oil to break up the dirt. hope this helps

HI I have a 6 parker blade emerson fan. The blades will not come off like in this video. I have no idea how to without wrecking it. It will run but the cords are all dangerous looking and I would like to clean it up. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sweet fan. I also have a 11644, runs like a champ. Where did you get the "DC Motor" in your title? This baby has an AC motor, split phase. Two wire headwire. These are more rare than the 1500's, btw. The 1500 was their first 8" fan, followed for a short run of the 11644's. The only difference between the two are the cage badges. The 1500 has a solid cast brass badge, the 11644 has the stamped brass badge.

thanks, your right it does have an AC motor I must of confused it with one of the other fans I was working on at the time!

I noticed the black and red 3 in 1 oil, don't use that use the blue and white one or it can ruin your bearings. it will say "designed for electric motors"

I dont use it on the bearings, I use it to remove screws cause it has an acid in it like wd-40 but is not as harsh as wd40 and easier to use on small screws rusted over, I use Singer Sewing machine oil on bearings and internal parts! thanks! yeah I forgot to make the video part for this fan but I'll make one for the Westinghouse I'm working on now! it will be up within the week.

Bug pods! That fan is beautiful. An amazing rescue and restoration! I'm blown away that the brass can come back to that original lustre! That takes ALOT of patience, which you obviously have! BEAUTIFUL!
