the ps1 ones are pretty bad, except that one where they completely changed everyones style, that ones fun. and the one that was on japanese psn store is not that good either
@SHlNOBl3 What are you talking about? Uchuu Kaizoku Akogingu (1996, which is the one that is on the Japanese PSN Store) and Ooedo Daikaitenare (2001) are MUCH better games than the Goemon travesty you mention.
that new age whatever one was fun as fuck, to me it was. the uchuu whatever one, im at this cave level, and the music and everything just is plain boring. i prefer the n64 ones and goemon 2 though.
I can't believe they have totally forgotten about Goemon, Sasuke, Yae, Ebisumaru and Impact. Mystical Ninja 1&2 was perhaps THE BEST platformers of the N64. Wish they would stick to their old franchises, instead of all that DDR etc., and the Goemon characters would make much better fighters in SSB than Sonic & co. :(
@Bluekill considering Goemon is made and owned by Konami I don't see how Nintendo has anything to do with it. plus Mystical Ninja SNES is on VC.... but it's horribly translated (Goemon is named kid ying and Ebisumaru is DR Yang.)
@Fefs92 not really, each one is very different from the last, plus the ps1 games playe more like the SNES one which was fun as hell (even if the US version fucked up translations) anywho, did you guys know that Goemon's first game was a turn based rpg on the famicom?
the goemon game you are referring to is "Ganbare Goemon - Ooedo daikaiten", it was the third of the goemon games released for the ps1 in japan. And no, you cant get one in english. I know it sucks; I want it too.
Konami would've wanted to bring this series over but honestly it wouldn't turn over a reasonable profit since, despite the series' awesome gameplay, challenge, and atmosphere, it's too Japanese for many Americans to understand.
@HyperSonicSquall I think now would have be the best time for these games. It would actually be profitable for Konami to release Goemon games on PSN/XBL/Wiiware. NA much better exposed to Japanese culture now.
Possibly, but even so, I still can't see this series appealing to anything more then a niche market. That and some, not me, would say the gameplay is extremely dated.
But like I said, that's just the audience, it's no fault of the game.
The N64 was more powerful than the PS1 (being released a year later and all). The only thing the PS1 had over the N64 - aside from the bigger library of games - was the amount of info you could fit on a disc versus a cartridge.
Actually, the superior AMOUNT of games on the PS1 makes me wonder if another advantage to discs is that it's easier to port games you made on a computer onto them--tellingly Nintendo switched to discs next console.
I loved these games back in the day, although there were plenty of occassions where I ended up throwing the controller away out of frustration. I remember comparing this to Kirby and I swear it felt like everything was in incredibly "slow" motion. This is what I call a good platformer.
It's sad that the company producing the US versions of the Goemon games is no longer around. That means unless another company buys the series, no more Goemon in the US D:
yeah.. i got lotmn on the vc cuz its out on it because i loved the 64 games i had no idea that there were so many goeman games but i loved great adventure
I wasn't even aware of the PSone games... I've only played the N64 ones and the SNES one. Too bad the US doesn't get more, these games are not only extremely fun, but very funny!
heheh.. I know.. It's a power up move you can use to move somthing really heavy, and do double damage; but it depletes ryo I think. Super Saiyian -> Super Sonic -> Super goeman? Lol.
ah yes, well that was because the majority of goemon games are japanese, so i thought it would be best just to use the jap titles & for the games i owned in english i recorded straight from them rather than having to mess around with emulators.
Oh wow! I remember this game from a looong time ago! I use to have soooo much fun playing them! I love that little robot kid (I forgot his name) I couldn't wait to get him! x]
DAMN!!!! This video is awesome. Goemon will always be my favorite character. I like how this video displayed the series. The games were full of nothing but endless hours of non-stop fun. I'll remember them forever.

Hey can anyone tell me what all Goemon games had co-op play? And did any of these support more than 2 playters at a time?
amacfantaasy 2 years ago
well, almost all of Goemon's games have coop play, I think the only one that doesn't have it is the "Mystical Ninja" for the N64.
Also the "Goemon's Great Adventure" for N64 have coop play for 4 players
