Christianity is for the wilfully ignorant. The Bible fails morally by sanctioning genocide, celebrating infanticide and tolerating slavery. It fails logically with self contradiction and historical inaccuracies. Matt just wastes his talent and achieves absolutely nothing. Wake up and face the fact that there is not one iota of proof your fantasy is real. Citing anecdote and delusions as proof is pathetic.
That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence
@StrumstickJoe Quick question, wouldn't your statement "that which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence." pass its own test? Can you provide any evidence for that statements validity?
@EvidentTruth Quick answer: it's a statement of my position. It means that the relgios can not impress me with the validity of their claims without evidence. I am allowed to dismiss what they say without the need of providing evidence of the reasons for my dismissal. (It's a quote from Chris Hitchens, who is far more articulate than I. Type in 'best of hitchslap')
Your quick question ignored the bulk of my post - no thoughts on that?
@StrumstickJoe Peace on earth? Well, I'm glad you're discussing the topic Jesus Christ has so ingeniously brought up during a time of terrible barbaric rulers. Why wouldn't we want anymore? That statement sounds ignorant. You're saying, you've always been complacent with one helping of food. You've never wanted a little more money, to buy that 'toy' you always wanted? You are okay with living a life without purpose? There is no meaning to us without the hope of a God, we are such impossible beings
@StrumstickJoe It doesn't have self contradictory nor historical inaccuracies. You shouldn't claim things you can't back up. If you mean slavery where workers are paid and/or fed and given a place to live, people willing to work and not bred in captivity, people who need a job and a master meaning a boss? Then yes. If you mean illogical, then you probably mustn't have studied that much out of high school. Maybe get a degree in philosophy and cosmology, look at real question of life.
Sir, please be careful with how sure you are that there is no god. I'm fairly sure that Matt Chandler would love to sit down for coffee with you and discuss his talent. He would attribute it all to his creator.
Don't want to start another YouTube fight... Hate those. Food for thought.
Tommy Nelson says at 0:53 the book has been cencsored by the church. In point of fact it is the literalist view that he teaches that is afraid to talk about this matter openly. No doubt about this.
Can anyone name a Christian anywhere that believed this book was a romanitc story as people teach it today? no, this literalview is made up and popularized by the mormons to justify polygamy and immoratliy...if that is not true, name 1 person who believed like tommy did prior to 1961

@EvidentTruth Thank you for indicating by your silence that you were satisfied with my answer.
If you can find a couple of minutes though, your quick question ignored the bulk of my post - no thoughts on that?
Peace on earth, for there is nothing else - nor would we want more after this life.

I just love this guy's presence and confidence.
Pity he's so wrong about there being a god.
He could do so much better with his talent.
Hope he's well, by the way.

@bravesdave I suppose the YT fights are people just wanting the last word - to make the telling point!
I appreciate your politeness. Often christians are alarmingly abusive, and that seems to destroy whatever point they're making.
So I will leave it there, in deference to your dislike.
Peace on earth.
