@lilmarv08 You can stroke any engine you want. The better question is why would you stroke a 305. When you can stroke a 350 or any other small block chevy that actually flows.
@lilmarv08 I've heard of ppl geting monster power out of 305's. There's a few former et record holders w/ 305 based stroker engines. The reason u never heard much about them is that the heads don't flow worth a damn & they don't have that "magic" 3in bore. That and everything you can do to a 305 u can do w/ a 350 and get more power / $.
i was bored waiting for my parts to come in for the other motor so i took it apart, i had the other motor together a month and a half ago but the cam i bought from crane was junf and it broke 8 lobes of and mushroomed all sixteen lifters during breakin, all that metal screwed all the bearings but the crank was still ok so i just got the parts back in to put it back together so maybe a week it will be track ready but it depends
Did you rev your new engine from 2000 RPM to 3000 PM and and change from like 2200 then a min. later 2600 then 2000 then 3800 Sumthin like that ...Becouse if you dont have the engine reving at a higher rpm the oil from the crank wont thorw oil on the cam...Making it where doun
im 16 too, and i know for a fact, that a stock 305 block and heads will not withstand 700hp, let alone make that much, also, nice fiberglass patches on the floor, the cam in the vid has no where near a .679 lift, also, wheres all your perf. parts? all i saw was a dirty cam, an old dual plane intake and an old holley 650...and a stock 84 camaro doing 13's? hahahaha, my 96 dodge does a 12.9 and its been spec'd at close to 500 REAL HP.
obviously you cant read either bro, it was a stock 305...gone i took a 400 block and a 350 4340 steel crank and 6.00 inch rod with domed speed pro pistons, brodix 2.055 by 1.60 aluminum heads, and that cam was a cheater road race cam that i was goin to use but bought a solid roller cam with my team membership discount through comp, then put it together, ill take some more pics for ya and post them but i have been really busy with my summer job and building a super comp car so ya
so its destroked, not stroked, and i still cant see it making that much power unless your running a fuck load of spray, and how is a unibody car with a rusted out floor gonna handle that much power anyway? i think you better just junk the dime a dozen car you picked up and find something that half the population hasnt already tried to do.
well get a video up, i wanna see your million horsepower camaro, with a full tube chassis, and if theres no rust, why is there shitty fiberglass patches?
I have to agree with everyone, 700 on a 377ci is alot with the description youve provided, If you said 500hp with a shot of N2O then everyone would be happy to see the end result. Fact is everyone here who has a well built car is sayin that a 14yr old cant have that kind of cash to make that much power with out some serious n2o, turbo ect ect... Good luck though maybe you can prove us all wrong and acually show up with a vid of 700hp dynoed 377ci. later skater
well im 16 now and this isnt my first race car this is my first driving car... i race circle track...asphalt modifieds and late models and my late model makes 650 horses its a 377 not on nitrous so i figured without the rules on my valvetrain i could build around seven hundred...now my description is a bunch of shit i had layin in my race shop but thats not wat im really running..i can change my desription if everyone wants???
Yea I'd say atleast say what your acually putting into it and say Im hoping and dreaming for 500hp atleast. then everyone would mention nice car and such. And valvetrain isnt gonna work wonders on a motor alone, yes a cam is the brains of everything but its not gonna give 500hp without performing heads and intake alone with a solid engine. Good luck
yeah there double humppers ....i really hate my description cuz everyone is like bull shit ur not goin to make this and that and so on... so FUCK them... which doesnt concern u any its if someone reads this comment maby theyl fuck off
Sorry but a 377 even with the best shit running nitrous wouldnt get 700 hp, maybe if you turbo it, but it says your 14 and i doubt you have that kind of money
ok fuck head... tell me wat will make 700 hp.... oh wait ur to fuckin stupid to know...keep ur arrogant opinions to urselves. . .i dynoed the car it made 678 hp on the chassis dyno so fuck you
First off, you don't know what the word Arrogant means, Second, show me the dyno sheets, oh wait let me guess, you lost em right? Crane Cams should sue you for you using their name. 3rd, you obviously cant read because I told you what you would need to possibly make 700. Lawls
I just helped a buddy finish up a 388 with a solid roller, forged pistons, dart heads, eagle rods, victor jr. manifold, roller rockers, forged crank etc... and he made 690 on a 150 shot. You are full of shit.
Why don't you post the dyno sheets?
Also, if the description is incorrect, why don't you give the correct one? I'd really like to know the components you used and all your tolerances.
good job tearin it down but 700 hp seems like a long shot with a 377 especially if it is a stroked 350 and not overboard instead of a destroked 400. i build theese cars all the time if you want to get close to the 9s change out the gears for 391s if your gonna use a th350 with a stall that will meet your cam specs. the cage you mentioned will work but you can get away with an 8 point and frame connecters. good luck with it
if you've got that kind of money to dump into a car why not get something nicer, the ONLY reason I run a 3rd gen Camaro is because I can't afford anything else.
a 68 Camaro SS or a 73 Chevelle with a fiberglass front end would do a much better job at handling the power.
167 mph your full of shit unless your pushing it down mount everest because a 167 is about 9.1 to 8.0 and with a 2.77 gear your not going to be in 9's at all
you cant really say its gonna have this much power and will run this unless you are capying a known combination... many people are often optimistic about how much power they are gonna make and how fast it will go, only to be dissapointed... trust me... i know from personal experience... a LOT of my money was wasted...
ya...i drive asphalt modifieds and we run the same type of 377 strokers they do make over 700 horse power i no cuz i build them...also this car ran 13.90s stock so im just estimating...i put a winters quick change in it also 167 mph is steep maybe 147 is more adequit
i didnt mean to offend you or anything. i was just going by the description, and i could swear i didnt see the 12 point roll cage but that was my bad. and putting a full frame onto a unibody chassis is crazy hard work and FAB, but if you could do it, go for it...
you just didnt mention it in the description, which is why i said what i said. not once did i say the motor wont make 700 horses... but with 700 ponies comes an abundance of torque, and if you know enough youll know torque is what breaks things, not horsepower... dont expect to do it with a 2.77 10 bolt rear, that thing will snap...and just because your dad built chassis for 10 years, doesnt mean YOU are an expert...
hahaha omfg u think u can run a 9.9 (and at 167? maybe 167kph) with a 650cfm carb and 2.77's in a 10 bolt? maybe if you ran the quarter down a fucking mountain
agreed... the rear wont hold up... if your putting that much money into JUST the motor, the weak unibody will twist like crazy... if you are going all out and expect to run faster than mid 10s in ANY car... it wont be done on a stock chassis... and stock drivetrain... do some more research, you are still really young...
actually its not stock chassis its got a 1971 chevelle frame its actually now a modified chassis that i put the body on that i plan to drive on the street and at the track...also i put a winters quick change in it that i had layin around...i drive asphalt modifieds and late models so i have an abundance of parts to use and i changed the carb its actually a 800 double pumper...the motor is full roller...just bcuz im young dont mean shit my dad built race chassis for hendrick for ten years

no im going to cut it up and turn it into a street legal pro comp drag car! it will run 10:20s to 9:90s in the quarter and will have around 700 horsepower!
