  • I WILL ALWAYS LOVE ELO IN ANY FORM AND MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE BAND

  • God Bless you John 1940 -1980 ... 30 years on

  • 4 people likes Justin Bieber...

  • Long life to this planet ...

Who knows where in the universe life is so beutiful ...

    Where John lives to ...

  • he got the lyrics of across the universe horribly wrong.

  • @tuesdayjoe

No..rotten is singer with the sex pistols..this is ELO.

  • 4:57 Jeff playing left handed?

  • There's a little bit of "Nowhere Man" in the intro

  • Jeff Lynne = God

  • Beautiful. <3

That's all I have to say.

  • How beautiful ! Thanks for the clip. Two of my fav things-ELO and John Lennon-can't go wrong there.

  • Wow!!! Thank you, es genial!!!

  • Too bad, ELO never visited Finland. Great tribute ! Jeff Lynne sings A Day in the Life

    exactly like John Lennon.

  • It is very strange that Jeff Lynne has never made a Christmas song for ELO to present. Or maybe an album ! Perfect timing for an ELO Xmas album would have been in November 1978 to release.

  • Wow! I remember this like it was yesterday! I travelled from Nova Scotia to Buffalo NY in October 1981 to see the Time tour. It was the most awesome experience of my life.

  • Wow! I remember this like it was yesterday! I travelled from Nova Scotia to Buffalo NY in October 1981 to see the Time tour. It was the most awesome experience of my life.

  • ELO os one of the best bands of the history

  • Great job in a Day in the Life!!

  • Rfor, what year was that concert? The Time album?

  • The concert was on Feb 14, 1982. It was the Time tour. They played all the songs from the album, along with a lot of their previous stuff. Great concert!!

  • 5:05 when Jeff sings "He didn't notice that the lights had changed" it sounds like he's crying. :(

There are a few other times, but that one is the most noticeable.

  • This brings back wonderful memories. The Lennon tribute was about halfway through the show after a short break, and blew everyone away. My wife and I were at the concert at the Frankfurt Festhalle that is on the ticket stub at the beginning of this video. We sat in the Innenraum Section, seats 1515 and1516, We still have our ticket stubs, the concert program, and the tour t-shirt bought that night. This was the greatest concert we have ever been to, w/great sound. Thanks for posting this jena4.

  • ...ELO is son of Beatles, john lennon said.

  • lovencare62, do you know when/where he said that the ELO was The Beatles' son?

  • He did! When he was guest DJ'ing on an American Radio show just before introducing ''Showdown'' in 1974 I think it was

  • @lovencare62 I think his actual comment was "son of the walrus" - I have it on tape somewhere... then he mentioned one of his favorite songs was ELO's "Showdown"... he was very complimentary...

  • @lovencare62 whoops, you were right... I just checked, he calls em son of the Beatles!!

  • oh my gooooood I luuuuuv it.

    ELO brother of BEATLES

  • ITS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

    I love JEFF SO MUCH!!!

  • For all who doesn´t know. John Lennon said in the mid 70´s that ELO were one of his favorite Bands. So Jeff Lynne get not even a Beatles Fan (worked later with George and Paul) and his music sounds a little "Beatlish": Rock on Jeff

  • john would have been proud.

  • Thank you! Let's get him in the Hall of Fame.

  • no, he doesn't sound like John, but he sings it in the same exact way and manner, hands down.

  • The awesomenest keyboards I have ever heard..I wanna be there..:'(

  • This sounds good ! I hope Jeff Lynne would have done a song about John Lennon those days. I´m sure it would have been great.

  • Jeff once remarked that 21st Century man from the Time album was a kind of dedication to John Lennon.

  • FUUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEAH

  • Well edited tribute from ELO. Thanks Jena

  • wow. this made me teary. what a beautiful tribute to a beautiful guy. we miss you, john. and hats off to jeff for doing these songs proud!

  • I Mean What Can You Say A Real Tear Jerk'r

  • Me too

  • great share mdog.... gets to a guy alittle what a time we were all so lucky.

  • Makes me cry, really.

  • me too.. almost :) the moment were Jeff sings "I read the news today, ooooh boooy" is awesome!!!

  • good stuff

  • A fantastic tribute for a fantasic man

  • they took away the odd meters in across the universe... :=( still very good. i like his voice. A DAY IN THE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! I finally get to hear this (again). I saw the Time Tour and remember this oh so well. Thank you for sharing!

  • Thankyou! the only band worthy of creating the soundscape of the end of 'A Day In The Life' live on stage :)

  • ThAnX for sharing!!! *bLiSs*

  • lennon is god

lynne is a minor god(though i hate his disco era)

  • Fabulous! I'd forgot about this, I had it on a crappy bootleg casette I bought at a record fair, but this is miles better. Thanks for uploading, much appreciated!

  • ah thank you so much for your nice and beautiful comment DaleAmigaman.

Amazing that you seen them live.

I think you are a lucky one.

  • The Beatles has influenced the whole career

of Jeff Lynne. ELO´s Mister Kingdom is

very similar to Beatles´ Across the Universe

    in some places !

  • Agreed! And Telephone Line is very like How, Mr Blue Sky like A Day in the Life, etc, etc! But it's all great! ELO were the Beatles of the 70s!

  • Wow! I always remember hearing this at the NEC in Birmingham on the Time Tour. We went twice because we had the worst snow ever on the night of the first show and ELO put on an additional concert a few days later at half price for those that couldn't make it the first night! Never thought I'd hear this again. Thanks.

  • Jeff Lynne forever!!!

  • thank you very much elorulz:)

  • Thank you. Long live all forms of ELO!

  • Great job!! the song is so wonderful.

    Your video rocks!

  • beaucoup de recherches ...bravo cela me plait

  • I thought his voice sounded alot like John's. Either way its a very nice tribute.

  • Very very well done.

  • As a Beatle MANIAC I can say that Jeff Lynnes voice doesnt sound that much like Johns... but Jeff if my second favourite artist(after John) so of course, he did a pretty awesome job... good vid!

  • Ahhh thank you so much crabbymottram!!

    My pleasure:)

  • Wundervoll. Sie sind groß. Danke

  • magical... emotional...amazing
