  • Thank you so much for posting. It suddenly disappeared from TV about 1990. It always stuck in my head, but no-one else seems to remember it. Never thought I'd hear it again. Wonderful!

  • This is one of my all time favourite adverts and I havent seen it in years. Was always disappointed that it never made the 'top 100 ads of all time' list. Magical - thanks for bringing back the memories!

  • I think this man taught us how we should look at life from a childs eye. I stared in a production of oliver & it gave me such warm & confidence. Thankyou Lionel you gave me the gift of listening using a childs ear.

  • Poor old Lionel died a few years after that. He was sober though!

    He ended up broke and alone for a while after selling all the rights to his musicals for peanuts. Cameron Macintosh sorted him out later with a load of dosh when he revived Oliver at the London Palladium.
