Perfect example of someone not knowing what they are doing teaching others completely incorrect information. I have no issue with people teaching, but please learn the subject before trying to be an authority. So many of the things you are teaching are just completely wrong, from XMP usage, to destructive editing, to root file? You mean catalog file? What is a root file? Hard undo? As opposed to a soft undo? It's frustrating seeing so many people trying to be Scott Kelby and failing.
@TheLoloPhoto Thank you for sharing your opinions. I definitely don't claim to be an expert or an authority, I'm just sharing some tips that made the workflow better for me. And while I may use different terminologies, it doesn't mean it isn't correct. If you have something to add, or a correction, feel free to leave it, if you can do it in a kind way. I would love to learn more. I'm not trying to be Scott Kelby, come on.
@TheLoloPhoto Thanks Jen for stepping out and sharing what you’re doing. It's awesome seeing you give back to the photo community. It’s too bad about Lawrence’s comment above (TheLoloPhoto) – Some lurkers like this guy have done nothing to contribute to the information for photographers out there on the web.
Yep, it will save your changes for you. If you close out, come back later, and hate the changes, you can right-click and select Reset, and that will send it to the original images. But your changes and workflow will be saved under History on the left hand side (when you are in the Develop Module). Glad you found the tutorial helpful! If there is anything else you would like to see a tutorial on, let me know!
Ignore the haters, I popped over to view his tutorials, but alas, there were none, nothing like seeing a blank page...
One thing I might suggest is a tutorial on using the brushes for fine tuning an image. Alot of people aren't aware that facet exist and it's so very handy, especially when working on a portrait. I actually use the skin softening brush to soften backgrounds. Great job, thanks for taking the time to do this.
@MrTheWatcher2 Thanks so much, I appreciate that! I actually do have a brush tutorial already. You are right, the brush feature is incredibly useful, one of my favorite things about Lightroom. I use them on nearly every image, it seems, and you can even create your own.
if i have made changes to my photos in lightroom and i close it when i open lightroom again will all the settings and adjustments to the photos be there? or do you have to save your work flow somehow? this helped me a lot, thanks!
Thx Jen. Don't pay attention to that person, I'm an avid lightroom user and you showed me a few cool things.

@JenSwedhin You had some good tips, however there is a better way to reset. instead of the right clicking. you can just hit the big reset button ;)

@MrTheWatcher2 YouTube won't let me post the link to the brush tutorial, but it is on my page, called Lightroom 3 Brush Tutorial.
