Castle Oblivion =/= The castle that never was

Castle Oblivion is a separate entity from the world that never was and located in the Cross Roads.

Ven is asleep in The world that never was because it was built over The Land of Departure.

It is a metaphysical representation of a person's consciousness within the kingdom hearts universe. Nomura himself has confirmed this in an interview. Ven's heart flying out of it symbolized a disconnecting from his body, like, say....losing his heart.

Morover, type "Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep: Ven's Final Battle and Ending (English Subbed)" into the search bar. At approximatley 2:22 in the video, you see Ven's heart fly away from the station of awakening. Compare it to Master Xehanort's in Terra's ending if you don't think it looks like a heart.

Yes, he did. Master Yen Sid said the words "that boy's heart has been lost". The circumstances of the removal of his heart weren't normal, so you can't expect anything normal, like a visual removal of his heart, to happen in accordance. During Ven's ending (immediatley after his battle with Vanitas), Ven's heart is clearly seen flying of after everyone explodes.

No, he lost his heart. Sora and Ven connected their hearts at the beginning of the game, so Ven's heart was called to Sora's in the darkness. Having destroyed Vanitas and the X-blade(half of which was made with his present heart), he had seriously screwed himself up.

Actually,Land of Departure was just DAMAGED by darkness,not destroyed.Aqua just changed it to Castle Oblivion later with Erauqus' keyblade.

I think it would be cool to see Land of Departure in a new game, but isn't it Maleficants castle now haha. I'd like to see a fully rebuilt Radiant Garden in the next one also, but I think it's going to be another prequel because the Developer already said he was planning another game with 3 brand new characters.

the castle eventually gets restored, aqua was the one who did that, so she could keep the memory of ventus alive i think, since ven comes back as Roxas, and without a heart, thats what i think Aqua did to keep ven's memory alive, i dunno, i might be way off track there, :<

You are. Aqua created Castle oblivion to gaurd Ven's body while she searches for Terra(and a way to get Ven's heart back). She clearly states this in the cutscene during the last episode.

I think Roxas contained Ven's heart during his short existence, which would explain why he has emotions, and of course the resemblance.

@Cococrash11 From what I've heard, he didn't want to, but he knew that Ventus shouldn't exist anyway, and he didn't want Master Xehanort to be able to keep using Ventus and Vanitas, so he wanted to take out Ventus himself.
