Hey I'm gettingnthe apex 37 and wondering what would the best size would be for the original trucks. I'm also looking for cheapness. Could you also recommend wheels and bearings. I am using it as a traveling and a board to just cruise around and learn to slide. I'm 14 and I'm 5,5 or 5,4 I wiegh around 115. And pretty sure I'm gunna get the apex just not sure what length, thanks
@wowcantfindaname12 the Original s8 trucks with the standard black springs would be good for your height and weight. Also, a good sliding wheel would be the Abec 11 flashbacks, Orangatang Stimulus, or the Retro Freerides. As for bearings, the Bones Reds usually work great.
Hey im 6' 3" 225. Im lookin for a board that will last, keep its shape, etc, theres a decent amount of hills here, but there are flats too. Any suggestions for trucks and boards?
I've made my own board and the nose is 190 mm wide but the trucks are raised 5mm, so can I use 6 inch trucks or should I search for 7 inch? it's quite a budgetboard
Hello, I'm 5'10" and 255lb and I want to get a board that well last for awhile and won't lose its shape. There's alot of downhill and flats where I live. What do u think I should get?
@catgat100 the freeride 41 with rocker concave would be a great board for you. It's stable on down hills and makes pushing on flats easy since it's a drop through deck. The rocker concave is also a strong board, so it won't lose its shape, and it offers a wider stance.
I made my own longboard deck... Its has cut outs on each end, and i was wondring if the width of the cut outs are 4.75 inches but the cut out themselves are only 3.75 inches and the deck is 9 inches wide would i get wheel bite?
@ohyeah453 the pintail series would be great for you! You would like the Pintail 40 if your riding mostly flats. It's awesome for cruising and carving! Put some red springs into your trucks for some extra stability
so my friend gave me a new deck for my b-day that he made in woodshop, cause he knew i love longboarding. the board is 24.5". i want 150mm trucks from you guys and sliding wheels. what combination do you think i should get?
@tycanady Check out the Apex 37! A great versatile board good for beginners, but also a board you can progress as a rider on. Should fit both Florida and your size good!
I'm 6'1'' and around 140lbs, and bought a Pintail 46. Was this a wise choice? I'm starting to question my decision after I broke my knee and tore a ligament while riding it.
@radiomindtherapy I'm doing better now, and back on the board. Yeah, I should have gone with something like the 43. Now I just cruise and play it safe. After being in a wheelchair for two months, I decided not to bomb hills any more. Love Original though!
@firstdarkknight you may want to check out either the pintail 40 or 43. The 43 will give you more stability and the 40 will be able to make tighter, faster carves.
I have a Santa Cruz Mahaka pintail, i jusr recently got it, i am saving for a pintail 37 from Original skateboards, but i was wondering if these trucks would be a good idea for my current longboard?
All I want for Original is for them to make this trucks lighter and maybe less noiser. It rides too great that Im always in the mist of choosing to fit my Paris or Originsl.
UMMM i wanna buy a longboard for my first time. And also first time riding sooo.... i need some help im 5'7 and 185 pounds and i was wondering if the TLS basic longboard is good.
Hey, im 17 almost 5"7 and weigh 140 i was thinking about getting the pintail 43. Do you guys think that is a good idea? please tell me your thoughts. i have never longboarded before so i need help
@DPrydeBaby123 hi im not sure how much 140 lbs or what ever but im 89 kg because i work out alot but i have a globe kayagua or somthing but if you just want cruising get like and 8 levels of wood like 6 canadian maple and 2 bamboo or 8 candian maple but i recently bought a dregs double d its alright weight is hardly anything on longboards just dont get flexy 1s if your scared of breaking them but i have an australian shop wich i live close to check em out there good ill ink next comment
Hey, I was thinking about getting a longboard for my birthday and i dont know which one to get im about 115-120 and im 5" 6. Im more of a cruiser/carver but sometimes i bomb hills and slide with my friends what woudl be he best board for me?
Hey! I'm looking for a new longboard to get. I'm about 5' 1I", and I'm about 165 pounds. I'm looking for an all around board. Maybe some downhill. Please let me know.
hey whats up.. um im 5 11 and weigh 175 and am about to be a beginner at long boarding.. any ideas on which board i should get.. i'd appreciate the help!
hey I got a long board about a week ago and i am trying to learn to pump but it doesn't seem to be working out really well (i might not be doing it right) i have a background in skating so i picked this up pretty fast but i cant seem to maintain a speed more than a brisk walk. So I was wondering if it could be because my trucks where too tight? they are squeaking but i feel like it may be because it is new.
I plan of buying a Torpedo 40 but im not sure about my customization. I wanna try buying it with Original S6 150mm Trucks, Seismic Hot Spot 69mm 78a (Orange) wheels and Bones Super Reds bearings. But I live in the city and maybe I will plan going to ride in tiny hills... I dont know if its a good idea to take that customization or its better for me if I take it the standart way... Thanks!
hey im gonna buy a longboard and im 16 and about 100 lbs and it'll my first longboard any tips on what i should get? also im 5"2 lol so if yall could repy thatd be great
@iliketheskating If your a first time longboarder I'd take a look at the Pintails, Torpedo, and Malakai. They are all similar and have traits that are good for beginners. The Malakai, or Pintail 37 are two good options for someone your height and weight.
@aliqueperez29 softer(around 80a), wider wheels are better for carving and high speeds and because they are wider, they will aid in stability as well. softer wheels will also be (in my opinion) more comfortable to ride long distances on.
hard wheels (83a, 86a, and so on)are preferred for freeriding because they're easier to slide right out of the box. either one would do well for your situation, but the softer wheels may provide you with a smoother and more comfortable ride.
@tailwhip3601 Actually it is the opposite. Smaller trucks will have a smaller turning radius and will therefore make sharper turns. So the S6 trucks would make the sharpest turns, followed by the S8 and then the S10 trucks.
Use White Lithium Grease, the kind in a tube or tub, NOT THE SPRAY! Spray form will only increase the squeaking. As for tightening, make sure that the lock tab sits about half way into the baseplate where the wave cam sits. Hope this helps!
@awayawah different tails and shapes of the boards decide what kind of riding you would do and what you can do with the board. The torpedo for example has a full kick tail and you can drop curbs or maybe manual. I've seen more elite kids do traditional skateboard kickflips and such with that torpedo tail.
Loving your videos! I'm 14 years old, 5"5, 100 pounds, and i ride a Ripstik and a SoleSkate (neither take hills well). I'm looking for a longboard to carve on hills, but still pump on flats like my ripstik. I wouldn't be doing any tricks.
I'm looking at the Derringer 28 with:
- S6 trucks
- Retro BigZig 75mm wheels
- Cell Swiss (Black V1) bearings
Should I try the S8s or even another brand's trucks? When do you think the derringer will be back in stock?
eh, i have a speed demon pintail N6" and T6" would the S8, or the S10? just to be safe, I really don't want wheel bite and i will probably get larger wheels.? please help!
Sup OS, i was thinking on gettin a S10trucks cuz my board is N7,5 and T7 but i really want my board without risers like a OS pintail
i have this question what i need to do to my board to put os trucks without risers on a normal board like a sec9 with stock cutouts??? and what range of wheels size can i put on the trucks???
.. Sorry, my inglish is poor, I need study for speak well. But, I have the peace of Christ. He love your life. I'm skateboarder from Thomaz Coelho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; I need see my video in the United States, please. Thank you, Brother!
What would be the best longboard for traveling? I'm not looking to do any tricks, just leasure and pleaseure of being able to get to places faster and allot funner. I need a board that can make good turns, like from a street onto the sidewalk, and skating on the sidewalk. I'm very intristed in buying a new longboard any advice?
I want to get a Apex 37 but you guys do not list the measurements shown in this video on your website...can you send me a message with the measurements? I want to get maybe something other than original trucks maybe gullwing stalkers
@Originalskateboards my friend had a broken wavecam, and had a VERY hard time reaching you over the phone. to the guy that wanted the deck, i would try a different method of contacting them.
I am a beginner and I am looking for a board. I am not a "trick" person, but more of a ride-to-relax type of person. What type of board should I get? Can I buy one from you?
I got a torpedo 40 with all stock stuff. I'm lookin to upgrade my trucks and wheels now. What's the best size truck for a torpedo the S8 or S10 and what's a good wheel size to go with it? Totally open to any input from anyone..
@WhiskeyRiver9 for cruising, go with 70mm wheels. Abec 11 or Orangatan are good choices. If you want some DH action, get some normal trucks. Flexy boards aren't meant for DH though
@dayalanz badass. I got the S8's and they're soo sick. I loaded up some Exkate 70mm wheels and they BLOW. They ride so slow and are really frustrating considering my other wheels hauled ass. I've become addicted to speed and started getting into sliding. What would be some good wheels for speed and durability for sliding? Exkate is DEF not it, that's for sure..
I have a malakai 40 with S6's and standard wheels. If i wanted to get Retro wheels would I need to upgrade to S8's or S10's? Or would my trucks work fine.

nother thing: Carver trucks pump well for Surf style surfing but Wheel bite something chronic till the wheels [82A] wear down a fair bit. decks are too wide like i've just learnt, PLUS the C7 truck Cranks BIG angles.
hey i wanna buy a longboard at original skateboards. I want to buy the malakai 40 but I dont know wich trucks i should buy. I hope you can help me out.
What do you guys say to using risers? (And how do you measure clearance with risers?)

@subwaystereo Man I hope this is a joke. If not, God bless for a speedy recovery.
Even with the perfect setup for your size, accidents can happen. Always skate
terrain that is ideal for your progress.
I personally would have gone with a 43. Unless you're very experienced, with a low BMI
you're better off going with something more geared towards your weight as opposed to your height.

Cheers from Australia!

If my N and T are both 6 inches, what wheel size can I get without getting wheel bite using the S8s? Or should I just get the S10s?
PicklePiratee 1 year ago

XxreaersxX 1 year ago
What would be the best longboard for traveling? I'm not looking to do any tricks, just leasure and pleaseure of being able to get to places faster and allot funner. I need a board that can make good turns, like from a street onto the sidewalk, and skating on the sidewalk. I'm very intristed in buying a new longboard any advice?

WhiskeyRiver9 1 year ago
@WhiskeyRiver9 for cruising, go with 70mm wheels. Abec 11 or Orangatan are good choices. If you want some DH action, get some normal trucks. Flexy boards aren't meant for DH though
dayalanz 1 year ago
@dayalanz badass. I got the S8's and they're soo sick. I loaded up some Exkate 70mm wheels and they BLOW. They ride so slow and are really frustrating considering my other wheels hauled ass. I've become addicted to speed and started getting into sliding. What would be some good wheels for speed and durability for sliding? Exkate is DEF not it, that's for sure..
WhiskeyRiver9 1 year ago
@WhiskeyRiver9
I personally like the S8s the best on the Torpedo, and I think 70mm is the wheel size to go with on that setup
Originalskateboards 1 year ago
@Originalskateboards Thanks a lot, man. These S8's are sooo sick! Easily the best purchase decision I've made since deciding to skate Original..

I have a malakai 40 with S6's and standard wheels. If i wanted to get Retro wheels would I need to upgrade to S8's or S10's? Or would my trucks work fine.
Snapsnap111 1 year ago
@Snapsnap111 (I also have a malakai!) You could stick with your S6's, but it would be better to upgrade to S8's.

You can use them on the deck. Just know that they don't actually drop through, they will mount to the bottom of the deck as they normally would

nother thing: Carver trucks pump well for Surf style surfing but Wheel bite something chronic till the wheels [82A] wear down a fair bit. decks are too wide like i've just learnt, PLUS the C7 truck Cranks BIG angles.
