Do you disrespect your fellow citizens so much? Then why are you interested in their votes? I think you are being very anti-democratic (small d) indeed.
People DO care about policy. The ads persuade you that everyone is stupid-associating with them is a mistake-it's better to be atomized at the TV and take what we're given.
But people are more intelligent than ads say. It's tempting to feel like an insider and say "I vote for a candidate who all my idiot neighbors can support," but that's self-defeating, and it betrays democracy. I believe in the revolutionary idea that people are capable of governing themselves.
This is pathetic. Meadows says that she'd rather hear about a candidate's spouse's fried food preferences than what the corporate attorney candidate actually stands for. That's sad.
Well, I just watched it again, and that's what she's saying. Enough with substance, says Maddow, give us more "charisma." We've seen what happens when the electorate votes for the guy they'd most like to have a beer with. Maybe the candidates ought to start actually discussing policy. If people would actually pay attention to Hilary's record rather than her reputation, they would see that she is quite conservative.
To paraphrase "Has anyone ever heard of Rachel _Meadows_?" I think the point is that Bill's first message was boring (which is generally hard for Bill) and the second was effective in creating buzz.
Uh, if Rachel looks like a guy, then either A. you need a stronger optical prescription...or B. there must be a lotta' feminine-looking men in your world. :-)
rachel does look boyish. she knows it and often jokes about it on her radio show. i'm glad she's not doing the fem thing anymore. the longer hair and heavy makeup made her look like a clown. she's so cute as she is and clearly more comfortable.
Rachel, I love you and respect you, but you are off the mark on this one. Hillary is showing a likeable, light and funny side that most ignore or don't know. Bil's job is not to talk about policy, because they will charge him from running the presidency from backstage.

Love the new video, Rachel. I can just picture you in your own television show. I wish you had those "behind the ears" headphones so the CNN/MSNBC big shots could picture you the way you'll look on your own show.
Hmm... This was funny, but it wasn't as good as the others. I think the ratings should be totally reversed with Richardson first and Clinton 3rd. Richardson's declaration was way more significant.
Love her.

HEY RACHEL that was really funny and on point!
I think Bill and Hill as Tony and Carm is excellent,
maybe if she's not elected they could get a reality series...lol
