No Bright Eyes didn't invent this sound, but I find it almost impossible to believe that that is not where Slow Club found it. By "shit" I am not referring to the quality of the music, I was using it to mean "stuff", or in this case "music" (e.g. "there's some great shit on the early Roxy Music LPs, but they're nothing to Eno's solo work"). I love how the camera is trying to oh so deftly avoid the reflection in the mirror behind her, then they just say "screw it" and pan right past it. Awesome video, almost convincing the "faux-one-take" editing.
