The Roesers are not the caring souls they are trying to pass themselves off to be. Why no mention about the illegal immigrants that they employee? How about them taking U.S. tax dollars for military contracts and then out sourcing the work to China and Mexico? What about Jack’s illegal campaign contributions, the Roesers fight against local taxes adjusted to improve the schools and siding with the village President in his attempt to keep Carpentersville a safe haven for illegal aliens?
To set the record straight I was the previous owner of 7 Maple before Otto bought this home from me. I purchased it 1992 & it was in complete distress. Year by year I replaced the complete roof soffits & overhangs by Sunshine roofing. Paradise rooms replaced the porch with a 3 season room & had a contractor replace the siding & windows including a bay and garden window. We asphalted & landscaped. Don't take credit for something you didn't do. You only repaired the inside. I started the seeding.
@dagwood323 OTTO has purchased many homes and completely gutted them and rebuilt them from the ground up. Go ahead, take a drive around Carpentersville and look at all the OTTO homes. I'm sure there are many previous owners who did various things to their properties over the years. What OTTO is doing is revitalizing the community, and they're not making a dime out of it.
@weneedmccain Yes Otto has purchased many a home. And if you beleive he is doing this out of the kindness of his heart...your a fool. Homes have a value. And he profits in more ways than one. What he does do does help the community but he gets a return. Chris Bruske says "7 Maple was the biggest change they did" & people all of a sudden were working on their homes. Is a false statement. The outside was completed by myself. It was not his biggest. The homes behind it he bought were a ground up.
@dagwood323 I know Chris I also know the Real Estate agent OTTO uses. They break even on the homes. However much it cost to restore + the foreclosure price is what they sell it for. They aren't making ANY profit from these homes. As you saw in the piece, I interviewed many folks who were happy to see an OTTO home go in and the need they saw to get their own home up to snuff. I think there may be something more to your very negative post.
@weneedmccain We just have a beef with the statement of 7 Maple being singled out by Chris. I had purchased the home and begun outside repairs brefore otto even began repairing his own factory . Chris should have stated their turning point was when otto started repairs on his own facility. & we did take a recent drive through old town by 7 Maple. & most of the homes look the same. In fact we noticed he purchased & tore down alot of properties to make parking lots for himself.
@weneedmccain like I said he profits in more ways than one. He is not a habitat for hummanity. Most people in old town took pride in their homes and repaired and beautified their place when cash allowed. Now what he has done on the other side of town by meadowdale I don't know. There are a lot of rental properties over their. I've seen many home on that side being repaired and renters let it go and then their back repairing them again time after time after time after time.
local entrepreneurship with hope & vision can change a neighborhood & city ~ thank you for posting this alternative to relying on the govt & banks which are not going to solve our problems ~ we are!
Unfortunetly, something like this would never ever get a feature on any mainstream news. Although it should, it could be very inspiring.
And even if this story become nationally known, I would bet money that some liberal network would find a way to credit the federal government for it...
It will probably never be seen on national television. It is a story of the American "Can Do" Spirit. Our Govt run liberal media wants everyone to think we can't do anything for ourselves. They want us to think we are stupid and need the Federal Govt to do everything for us. This story proves otherwise.
Very good..... politicians can screw up a steel ball with a rubber hammer.... private enterprise and entrepeneurs should be lauded instead of constant abuse, harassment, and taxation... we would all be better off.... less government = our founders ideas and they were right...... abide by the Constitution and get rid of the crooks.....
Your concept is spot on.... pride is a wonderful thing.....
May God, our lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the capitalist business practices that made America great continue to inspire innovative business techniques that benefit everyone in society. God bless you for sharing this video.
Hmm... Free market capitalism doing what it did in the beginning. Taking something old and broken, seeing potential, and making it worth something. I wonder if Obama realizes that the government has nothing to do with this. Personal responsibility made a BIG comeback there.

What's interesting, the town politicians aren't helping them at all. In fact, they are making it difficult for them.
Go figure. If the media gets wind of this, watch these same politicians become their best friends.
