@xPrinceKufufu how can you say this sounds like DM?! sounds nothing like them, and sounds just as cool to musical understanding ears. HAHAHA!! but yeah i love this song.
@Waveism1 This, sadly, is the remixed version of the song that puts your vocals way in the background at the beginning. The recent reissue of "Laugh! China Doll" on BLLR records puts your vocals back up front (though it's still a bit different from the vinyl version).
@salvadore88 Is not Kate Bush . Woman`s voice in this song is belong to Lilly Ak - this information is on my CD solo album ( 1998 it`s like the best of 1984 - 1998 (?) )...of Edward Ka-Spell : Down In The City Of Heartbreak And Needles Volume 2
Thanks so much for posting those brilliant songs and perfectly fitting videos of EK and LPD. I´ve been a fan for more than 25 years - that brings back so nice memories... Only one masterpiece is missing on youtube: "atomic roses" from the same album. EK recorded it in many different versions. ***big wish***
Poet and broken saint—this is Edward Ka-Spel at his best! Minimal, sweet and haunting. This song *could not* be any better! A masterpiece. I think I only have this on "Heartbreak & Needles 3". I can dream of what it sounds like on vinyl...ahhh.
@bdazzled08 Suicide Pact is my favorite one of his, but this is definitly a close second. I saw LPD live in san franciso in '98 or '99 was like a religious experiance,
@Gazerich I think I saw him that same tour, but down in LA/OC—maybe at the Roxy? Was he also wearing the ridiculous tan bathrobe that made him look like a broken-down roomer? Ha ha! Neils van Hornblower literally blew that room away! And Mr Ka-Spel,,,how could you not want to reach out and touch him?? "It's a loooong way....to Andromeda!" :^)

Hello, amazed to find this on here, 'tis I, Lilly Ak, aka Karen, singing with Edward on this track.
Some of my more recent music can be heard under the name Waveism1 here on Youtube. Still singing, Even Now. Still lovin' Ed's voice and talent :-)

Is that Kate Bush on backing vocals?
salvadore88 1 year ago
@salvadore88 It's a woman named Lilly A.K. She also did vocals for "Astrid" by The Legendary Pink Dots.
