  • hey great job! what gyro do you use with this helicopter?

  • @MrMickle28

Hi! I had the ALign GP750 Gyro on this heli.

I guess they are sold with a GP780 combo now, but the 750 never failed me and I still have it :)

  • @rayrsa cool thanks :D was this helicopter kit easy to build or did you find it difficult?

  • @MrMickle28

Hi! The manual for Align, was quite good and I used the build videos from helituning as help too. I would say the build itself is pretty easy, Just remember that the swash leveling/ lenght needs to be as accurate as possible. That said. if you have no experience in heli build or setup, you'll probably struggle more with the electronics and radio setup, than the model build. If you check up on the net or have someone to help you, this should be an ok task. ALign helis, are easy builds

  • @rayrsa thankyou it is my birthday today and i just unpacked the heli, checked all the parts and am now downloading the video's at helituning! i hope to start building it today! thanks for all your help :D

  • Great job man. Where did you get your training gear? BTW, I just ordered my 450 sport this evening and found your video. Was it pretty stable on the first flight?

  • @clankm

    Thanks!

I bought that from a Norwegian hobbyshop. It it a basic, cheap and simple gear, but helped me out in the beginning.

  • You are way past this. Let's see some new stuff soon :)

  • I know that this is a few mkonths old, but you have removed the gears by now right? I am only sayin that because I used to use gears, but then got the courage after about 1 hover to fly it at the park, and I must say, its way easier to hover without gears and a few metres higher because there is les wind coming off the ground! nice vid though/

  • Hey!

    Thanks for the comment!

I'm actually making a new "progress" video soon.

I actually took the gear off and have been flying at a local field and a rc airfield near by. By now, I've been inverted, flown flips and loops.

I guess I just let go a tried. My next step will be to remove the flybar weights. It seems very slow to turn upside down with the weights on. It uses a lot of airspace ;)

  • Practice your landings before removing the training gear, get them spot on and controlled steady landings, then remove the gear and try a few lazy 8's, but all looks fine to me mate, keep it up and get a few more vids on here. :-)

  • Thanks for the comment!

That's actually one thing that worries me to. I keep seeing and feeling that landings become to hard. I guess this training gear saves me on occation, but I will practice this more. Flying side in on the sim now. Will try that outside again next.

    Ray

  • as everyone else are saying get rid of that training gear you got enough skills to hover without it :)

  • Thanks!

As soon as the snow freezes over, I might just do that. I wonder what you experienced guys know abot landing on wet or soft/fresh snow? I don't want to dip the esc or deans into snow.

I really appreatiate all feedback I'm getting!

    Ray

  • I'm a beginner to ;) Hehe but thanks for calling me experienced :D Anyway i aint got so much snow yet, but have been flying in new wet snow that just came down, even in small amounts of rain, water puddles is gr8 for having fun :) But seriously i really dont know, i think its okay as long as you dont take your heli for a bath. Happy flying!

  • Thanks!

Jeg begynner å mistenke at du er svensk? Tjernstrøm?

I så fall er vi naboer/ grannar.

    Ray

  • Det stämmer bra de :) japp i alla fall lands grannar hehe :P checkout axsfin here on youtube he is from finland and have some gr8 beginner vids on his belt cp ;)

  • Skal gjøre det! Takk for tipset!

  • ;) alltid kul o dela funderingar o tankar med andra inom samma område! :)

  • I agree you've got enough control ditch the training gear. Also, a few tips to make HOVERING PRACTICE easier. Add 10-20% expo on cyclic. Limit your pitch curve to about 8-6 degree's at top stick, and 0 degree's at bottom. This will give you amazing vertical control, but do not fly in wind...it may not descend right away. Readjust later when you get better. Good luck.

  • Thanks a lot for your comments!

Actually, I had a friend help me do more or less what you suggest. I use a DX7 and have set 25% expo.

Guess this could be set lower in time? I also have the flybar weights all the way towards the paddles.

  • Take the training gear off mate u dont need it!! it wil fly and handle a lot better without it

  • Thanks for the tip man.

Guess it makes me feel a little safe.

Then again, I keep flying so high, it would'nt catch anything else but a straight down fall. Those skids look so small :)
