  • ok, maybe after hitting replay another 299 times I'll get my fill. As much as I love Michael Buble and his great efforts to keep this kind of music alive, he doesn't compare. The will only ever be one Dean Martin.

  • Can you imagine him singing this song TO YOU and you walking away and it not dawning on you for hours what just happened? I find it the most incredible song. Sung by the most incredible singer ever.

  • So cool!

  • Is this called a 'Basanova"? I'm so remembering my talented parents cutting up the living room carpet in perfect synchronicity to this very version.Wow! I miss them & this Golden Era.At least we can still hear Dean & Sinatra & Perry Como out 'n bout at various Italian diners.Young people need to discover how to dance to these Standards & discover the joys of True Romance & courtship!! It would give young people the safe~space, breathing room really to find out if they even liked each other first

  • @kindlydude Bossa Nova is a brazilian form of music that has a different rythm. It's sort of a slower, jazzier version of samba. This style is closer to latin Voleros and Cancionas. :)

  • Would it be weird to dance this at your wedding? I want to play this when I find that someone...

  • @nickjonasbigfan

I know a couple people who used it for their father-daughter dances. I don't know how well it would go over for a wedding dance since it talks about "we could never be" and "I'll set you free", but if it what you want go for it.

  • i get teary eye when i heard this song and while dino was alive not being able to meet him or see him in concert.... so many great ones that lived during our lifetime in this place called earth and now gone forever and not being able to getting the chance to just at least have them in your precense. Some of you are so lucky to know them so well personally. ... At toast to Dino "May you ever be in the World Wide Web to share your beautiful voice" ....Say hi from US to Louie Prima"

  • @malcabro ...keep the love alive my friend. The legacy of all these greats are in us to share and keep around forever.

  • We used this for our father daughter dance at the wedding reception. Nicely done Dean-O

  • lovely

  • perfekt thank you r.i.p

  • I have split with my girlfrend I wish her love brillant record

  • This is the nicest way to say goodbye to the one you love!

  • My Dad passed away on the 1st of august and this was the song they we had played at the end of the funeral. RIP Dad

PS I was named Dean after the great man himself.

  • Many artists have performed this touching piece. Some interpretations are really not so bad, but version of Dean Martin is obviously the best. A charming orchestration, smooth voice and slightly faster tempo makes this song less desperate and reminds that loss of love opens a space for something new, hopefully far more precious! ♫♪♫♪♫

  • I've requested this song to be played at my funeral service, as I wish "love" to all those after me.

  • This is one of the most beautiful version...

  • fantastique

  • I got married seven months ago and this was the song we used for the 'Father-Daughter dance'. It was a toss up between this song and 'Memories' by Elvis, both singers were two of his favorites. We finally agreed on this one because it was happy and up-beat just like my dad always was.Dad passed away last week and now it reminds me of the way he would always hope for the best for everyone in every situation, good or bad. He wished everyone love, but especially me, his only little girl...

  • @kidtealie SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOURDAD.My dear husband of forty years passed 18th June. Love and best wishes. I hope you have as many happy years as my husband and i. Dont worry about your Dad he is in a better place . XXXX

  • What a great version, you could not have a more relaxed style than this man.

  • Swooooooon :)

  • I was born in '77 but props to Dino. One of the best. I love music from 40s until today. If a song is good it needs no classification or time frame and this is one of those songs. Respect real music!

  • This goes to you my husband.

  • Dino adds a Latin beat to this great, saying adieu to love song...Bu then Dino is latin, after all ITALIAN is also a latin language..Pace, Amore, Un Baccio...MARIA GONZALEZ

  • For dancing and dancing all around...

  • What a lovely song & voice .Thanks

  • dino forever!!!!! and now tony diamond is the best among new crooner

  • mia amore ...still smooth as silk

  • Lindoooooooooooooo!

  • super

  • Wherever you are from, whatever music you normally like, one word sums this up - "CLASS".

  • Dean Martin was so relaxed and nobody sings this like him.

  • Thanks for that...the perfect comment for this song

  • I am just about to upload my own version of this song and I would be honoured if you guys could check it out!

    Your Pal

    Jack

  • Dean 's voice and style is sweeter and more romantic as you said so *dreamy* i can feel the love too...that's what make this song much warmer and alluring to others...

  • I hate goodbye but what can i say...?! Goodbye Sweetheart...

  • Mr Dean Martin...WOW

  • heart breaking <\3

  • Like this one better than the frank sinatra one. (tho that one is nice ) but something different and more passionate about Dean Martin.

  • so dreamy you can feel the love

  • Amazing thanks so mush

  • I know my daddy does for real..............

  • could never be...

  • Very sweet and romantic

I wish you love...me and hold me tight

  • does anyone know what cd this on?

  • LATE AT NIGHT WITH DEAN MARTIN is the CD!

  • i love this song. i have a daughter getting married this july 31st and she will be dancing with her dad to this song... love it dino...your still no. one

  • Dean was one of the most under rated most wonderful singers of all time... he had one of the smoothest voices of all time...

  • the problem that critics had is that he didn't take it "seriously". Even on the Simpsons show, when Dean Martin appeared, Homer says "Dean Martin? Pshhh you scwandered your talent". Who cares really, Dean was more than a singer, he was a personality.

  • I don't know... I think he took a lot of his singing seriously... his recordings were so wonderful like this one... and his Christmas carols were my fondest memories of Christmas. He was a joker and loved to goof off and have fun, but a voice is a voice and he SURE had one... I'd love to have this album... it's beautiful like most of what he did! R.I.P. Dino we miss you! XXXX D.

  • ohhhhh this song is so awesome... makes my heart feel so melting away... Does such a man still exist ?

  • yes

  • Yes, SnezicSun, a few of us still exist.

  • I hope so ... :(...

  • This man could sing - he just makes you melt - so velvety smooth!

There were fabulous singers then - Dino, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Mel Torme, Frank . . . who can compare?

I posted my version of this song, check it out!

  • We'll NEVER see musicians of that caliber again. Movies from the golden age of Hollywood either for that matter. Well in my opinion anyway.

  • I hope you're wrong, oohyllab, but I'm afraid you may be right.

  • Well who am I, but I just happen to really love movies from the 40's. There are exceptions of people from today in all entertainment facets too of course. Just seems there was a great concentration of great entertainment from that era., and I was a teen in the 70's. Don't even get me started on great rock music from the late 60's and early 70's. Too opinionated I guess, sorry.

  • @oohyllab Yes, sadly, that's true.

  • Sweet!! Deano was the man. Thanks.

  • Dean had more class in his little finger that most singers have in their entire bodies. He was The Best,

  • oh, well said!

  • ditto

  • Not only do alot of today's performers not have class, lots can't even remotely sing.

  • @sirjim1221 Amen!

  • @sirjim1221 So true!

  • It´s on the LP "Late at night".

It´s the best LP I´ve ever heard from him...

    it´s just amazing....

  • Good version.
