Hey look its the brother of the dumbass in my college communications class...he talks about the same & he's just as ignorant about the very same subject. We were supposed to give a presentation about something we knew alot about. So this dude gets up & starts talking about shotguns. He proceeds to comment how shotgun slugs are "one big solid bullet made of steel" I laughed quietly to myself.
Yes. Rifled slugs: are normally lead. Sabot slugs: lead core, copper & sometimes even bronze jacket (some are from Remington). Hevi Shot makes slugs. Barnes also offers solid copper slugs. However you would'nt find steel in any part of a slug, and even moreso a SOLID steel slug. That's why it was so funny to me to hear him say slugs are "one big solid bullet made of steel"
Lol. Your classmate should probably have done some research, since obviously the most defining aspect of a slug is that they're usually made of lead. However, there are some steel slugs manufactured, but they're quite rare.
You're right carpcuz, they aren't very good videos at all, and he doesn't know much about what he's doing either. They're not BB's, it's called SHOT. Lead shot oir BB shot. Also, steel shot is NOT all that's used for Waterfowl. Bizmuth and Tungsten is also used. You also don't have to use 3" for duck hunting. 2 3/4 have been used for years before 3" came out.
Man, you need to learn a lot more about shotguns before you try to teach it to others.
shells are the ammunition that is used in shotguns, or another term for an explosive projectile. A round is just a military/police/or civilian launched projectile from a gun.
It's called shot...not bbs. The casings have never been made of card board. They used to be made of paper. The powder is measured in drams, the shot size is measured a 00buck,000 buck, #4, #71/2, #8 etc. The higher the number, the smaleler the shot size as well as the more number of shot. Cheez man...you're not teaching a damn thing.
What do you think I mis-spelled? If you think I wrote "drams" instead of "grams", I was right. I did typo "smaller" but as I said...it was a typo and not an intentional mis-spelling. The filler stock is called shot and the casings and wads were made of rolled paper. (ome were even made of brass)Is your dick and brain as small as your father's or do you even know who your father is? Now, little boy, shut the fuck up before you embarass yourself. See? I can cuss also.
Oh, I left out a letter on one of the words so you could feel like a school teacher and correct me because as far as guns and ammo is concerned...you never will

Ain't slugs usually made of lead? And usually hollow point? And rifled? Then again i don't know for sure... but i think most are rifled...

DarkPieman 2 years ago
Yeah especially since he specified foster-style slugs. Any type of slug made that would be made of steel would obviously be of a sabot design
Juicetech 2 years ago
@Lithys ,there are hollow points and solid points....there are sabot slugs and rifled slugs...and yes, most are lead...
