Okay, I know this is a dumb question, but I can't seem to get any answers on Yahoo! Answers. I've loved evanescence for a few years now, since I was only 8 when their first album Fallen came out, I don't really remember hearing anything about them. But I recently found out that they didn't want their music sold in Christian stores. I'm just wondering why? Wouldn't that just be one more place to sell their album?

@TheMustangBaby yeah, but then they're kind of forced to try to cater to another group of people - Amy didn't want to. Ben Moody was more into the Christian rock thing and while Amy is a Christian, she said they weren't a "Christian rock band". By being marketing as a Christian band they'd sort of be on a pedestal. At least that's how I remember it being described. Amy was sick of talking about it by 2004ish lol. But I'm sure you can google around for some old interviews.

While some of the songs on Fallen do have religious themes, she didn't want that to overshadow everything else OR drive away groups of people (which would be more likely than bringing more fans in, I think).

Many of the songs on this remind me of an 80s female pop metal band. Not as dark as the first 2 albums but I'm glad she's happier with life. Still a great album. I especially like this song. It's heavy & the vocals are just sick. Her vocals in this song remind me of Ann Wilson from Heart who happened to be my favorite female hard rock vocalist until Amy came along. Secret Door sounds more like the Amy we all fell in love with. A little too much like pop but still kicks ass. Different IS good.
