WOODWORKING APRON

I have nothing against a tool apron, in fact they are handy when I am working in my shop. That said I do believe you were quick to dismiss the tool bags for interior trim. Occidential makes trim bags that have spots for all your tools and I personally prefer them when setting doors, cabinets, case and base. All tools are at your finger tips and they all have a designated spot in my bags, from my nail sets to may stud finder. Only draw back I wipe glue on my shirt and pants when I'm in a hurry.

I prefer the more traditional snapped waist and neck straps instead of straps crossed behind the back. Latter is too restraining and can be difficult to get into when filled with tools. Of course, I don't carry many tools in the apron anyway. Most remain in a nearby bucket organizer, ready for transfer to the apron as needed. Grizzly Industrial makes a decent carpenter's apron (cheap enough to replace as often as it wears out) and Bucket Boss is king of the bucket organizers.

I have wathced your videos for about 2 years. i have been a carpenter for only 12 years but I apprenticed under a very good teacher for 3, and worked on many projects . from house moving with my dad to commercial work on hospital and schools. I have learned from every trade and all sorts. would like to correspond.

i think you're right on. i was beginning to wonder if i was the only guy to switch to a shop apron for finish and built-ins.

Again, Another Great Lesson! This would be an upgrade from the bucket I use. You should get your wife to make Aprons with your "Home Remodel Workshop" LOGO on them. I get a cut of the profits on this idea though. Thanks for the vedio.......steve
