this was when it was off the chain. at the finish there was only 3 cars on the lead lap and the points! the chase format has ruinned what it used to be a great way from start to finish with no help to win the championship. if you are want ting a champion of nascar then it should be how the chase will throw a wild card down to win the championship. it should be from start to finish the first race to the last one and see who is number one at the end of the season!
Watch this and tell me Labonte didn't have it coming 12 years later at Bristol.
