What's up with the comments? Except for X (100?), this pronounciation guide is actually correct. People don't seem to understand what the hints in brackets are supposed to mean - they are for English speakers who don't know any German or IPA. Btw: I'm German.

i agree... i'm not german, but I have studied it for several years. four years formally, and probably four more before that. There isn't really an ay sound, because the sound stops just before the y really happens. it is more like an eh...I have nothing really to add to your comment.

it's not "bay", "cay" "day" "gay" etc.! you can't write down the pronuciation of german letters with words that are pronuced with an english pronunciation. it just doesn't work. you should watch a video where the alphabet is spoken and pronunced correctly and you'll see that it is not "bay" "gay" etc.
