• sadly, I had a synched version posted that I had figured out how to do later, and it was eventually pulled off.

  • How to view this synched:

    1. Open the video in two tabs/windows. Pause both at the beginning. We'll call them Tab 1 and Tab 2. Tab 1 will be providing the video and Tab 2 will be providing the sound.

    2. Mute Tab 1.

    3. Start Tab 1 playing until a few words are displayed on screen. Pause it.

    3. Start Tab 2 playing.

    4. Quickly switch to viewing Tab 1 and be ready to press play.

    5. Press play when the words you can hear match the words you can see.

    6. Enjoy the rest of the song synched!

  • If you get it slightly wrong and the video's ahead of the words, click pause/play twice quickly in Tab 1.

If you get it slightly wrong and the video's behind the words, go to Tab 2 and click pause/play twice quickly. Return to Tab 1 to view.

  • Love that song......Nice Job!!!

    Thank you

  • WOW! I muted the vid and played the song separately. It's amazing when it's in sync :D That must have taken some real determination. I love it

  • excellent. nice job

  • One of my favorite bands covering a song by one of my other favorite bands...does it get any better?

  • I am impressed.

  • Great song, and well done. Cub does it sexier though.

  • I'm hearing this version for the first time (how did I not know about this?) and it's actually pretty great. Color me pleasantly surprised.

  • it's not really an animation. it's just words.

  • woah, congrats, that was great.

  • wOw! awesOme! =] I LOVE NEW YORK CITY

  • Awesome! :)

  • that was fantastic! rage!

  • That was so awesome. I like how you snuck "TMBG" in there a few times, too. ;)

  • great song and awesome animation, but yeah, the video was a couple seconds earlier than the song

  • Aww, nice work on this. It's fantastic. :)

  • bulshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • que?

  • This is a very cool song, and I like the way you did the animation, even though it's out of sync.

  • Very cool.

  • great song but doesn't have the charm of the original CUB version

  • I like both versions, but there is something that's especially charming about the original, I have to say. TMBG does a really great job with their cover songs, though!

  • thats how i met my girlfriend NOT

i dont even have a girlfreiend

    this song rocks

  • Hahaha join the club.

  • already in it

    just kinding

  • wish it was synced better!!! could you try to resync!!!! thanks... other than that, good school project!!!

what program did you use? Flash?

  • ahh, i wish i could find a way to get it to resync better. believe me, i tried multiple times with no luck. the entire animation was done in AfterEffects, frankly, only because the assignment called for it to be done that way.

  • synch it in final cut.

use the speed percentage to tweak it just right.

  • i finally got it to synch... check out my own video response.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

and i love how on times square, the letters flashing on the billboard are TMBG.

  • Great play with the type.

  • Very nice, timing or not :)

  • YAY. Best. song. ever.

  • The timing is a little off. And it's probably your fault and probably it's not. But i'm blaming you anyway.

  • that is nice... keep up the good work

  • I hope you gave credit to Cub, the original band that wrote the song.

  • Truth, cub = awesome + 1

  • great work!! (I'm an aspiring SVA student) What program(s) did you use to make this?

  • the timing is off

  • yeah, i mentioned that already. blame youTube.

  • very nice!

  • Awesome job!

  • Great animation, dude! I recognized and appreciated all these fonts.

  • Good song and nice typography. The type illustrations are great. If you do another you might consider doing a little more than the lyrics during the song.

  • I appreciate the New York magazine riff. The bridge and Empire State Building illustrations are great.

  • no one is your friend in New York City

  • Speak for yourself.
